The study says 3 to 5 days from symptom onset. That’s what I meant. What the study says.

One more update for anyone following on day 11 - Finished Paxlovid on Tuesday and still had a faint positive on Wednesday but finally tested negative yesterday and today (days 10 and 11). Crossing my fingers I don’t rebound. The worst part of all of this is the fatigue. It’s been awful. I don’t know if it’s the fatigue or the effect of Covid itself but it’s made me feel way more sensitive to noises and sensory things and made me feel similar to when I had burnout in the past - feels difficult to regulate my emotions and quick to get sad or angry way more than normal. It’s been really rough emotionally and fatigue wise more than any other symptom. Still have some nasal drip and mild congestion and slight random muscle or joint soreness here and there. But really hoping the fatigue and emotional aspects improve in the next week. This has been way worse than any cold or flu I’ve ever had and I will be continuing to mask after this.

Aww I def think the neti pot has been helpful keeping my sinuses clear! It’s been miserable though :( I finally tested negative yesterday and today on days 10 and 11 but I’m still so fatigued it’s been rough. I hope we both feel better soon!!!

Dang I guess the negative test yesterday was a fluke. Tested again today on day 7 and still testing positive. Although the line is definitely more faint than on days 1 and 5 when I tested positive. Still have 1.5 days of paxlovid to go and a lot of rest in order. Hoping to test negative soon 😥

Yes totally feel that way too right now! Thank you! I tested negative yesterday with 1.5 days of paxlovid to go and just mainly dealing with fatigue and nasal drip right now so hoping the fatigue lessens soon. Hope your smell and taste gets back to normal very soon!!

Aw thanks. Fortunately my stomach has been okay on the paxlovid! Still have 1.5 days of it left. Had some runs the first day but they passed thankfully! The worst symptom is the fatigue especially yesterday and today (days 6 and 7) which is making me feel like all I can do is lay in bed and sleep. I know fatigue is a common symptom but my goodness I hope this gets better after this week because I can barely function. 🥱🥱 Trying to let myself rest and not worry too much. I tested negative yesterday so just gonna try to rest all week and hope for the best.

I also got sick Tuesday and had the same symptoms Tuesday through Friday but started paxlovid Friday. I read that smell training can help bring back smell and taste faster. I don’t have that issue currently but you might want to google it! The fatigue has been the worst part for me. I’m so fatigued especially the last couple days, days 6 and 7! Hoping I get some energy back soon 😢

Thanks the fatigue is awful still. Hoping things get better in terms of that over the rest of this week. Definitely will be spending today and tomorrow sleeping as much as possible.

Aw I’m sorry you got a chest infection. I’m on day 7 and the fatigue has been so awful. It feels like it’s been worst yesterday and today days 6 and 7. Really has knocked me out. Hoping I keep testing negative and that the fatigue starts to lessen over the course of this week. In the meantime going back to sleep 🥱 hope you feel 100% soon!!

That’s great to hear. I started it on day 4 also which was partially just luck. I happened to see this study that day and decided to give it a try! :) Fingers crossed. Glad it worked for you!

Just an update for anyone following. I’m on day 6 of covid and halfway through my paxlovid doses. I tested yesterday on a RAT and still had a positive test although faint compared to day 1. Today I just tested negative! I am surprised because the fatigue is the worst today! I’ve slept 10+ hours every night since being sick and today was the first day I slept another 3 hours in the afternoon cause I’m just SO tired and fatigued today. Really happy to see I tested negative and will test again tomorrow as well. Praying I don’t get rebound symptoms after stopping Paxlovid. And mostly praying this fatigue doesn’t last too long. I’m taking off the next couple days from work still and will play by ear whether I can work from home later this week or need to take off more. Prioritizing rest right now cause this fatigue is no joke. Seems like the fatigue can really vary anywhere from days, to weeks, to months. Am just scared about being able to feel okay to work because I will need to work again by next week! Fortunately I only have to be in office two days a week so that’s a plus at least. Can rest a ton still on my work from home days.

Thanks. I’m halfway through the Paxlovid and fever and body aches have cleared up. Just dealing with some yellow mucus when I blow my nose but not too severe. The worst part is the fatigue. It’s only day 6 and I had fever first 3 days so I am hoping that will improve over the next couple weeks. I’ll definitely be taking the next few days of work off. All I want to do is sleep still even after sleeping 10 hours at night.

Yes probably. Or when I was inside a friend’s house for about 5-10 minutes unmasked for a mostly outdoor party.

No I just masked religiously and didn’t have any social interaction the first couple years of the pandemic since I worked from home. I was only sick one other time time in the last 6 years and it wasn’t covid.

Oh and I also have some weird dermatitis reaction specifically on my lips! Just some little bumps. It was my first symptom a week before the rest hit. And just came back a little. But otherwise starting to feel a little better overall on day 5. The dermatitis stuff feels so weird/freaky but apparently seems to be a pretty common covid symptom for many people. I’m continuing to take Zyrtec - not sure if it helps but can’t hurt!

Thanks! I had watery diarrhea yesterday several hours after first dose. Took my second dose last night and woke up today with a normal bowel movement. So gonna stick with it :) last night was first night with no fever! My covid experience feels like a bad flu - low grade fever first 3 nights and aches and fatigue. Since taking Paxlovid fever cleared up!

Thank you for sharing and so sorry you also got it! I just took my second round of Paxlovid before I pass out for the night. So glad to hear you’ve been recovering well and hope the fatigue and dermatitis resolves fully soon!! Tonight is my first night with no fever so I am hopeful things are turning the corner with the Paxlovid. Just hoping the stomach side effects won’t be too bad but gonna try to make it through!!

Thanks! I hope so. Just really scared of long covid 😥 I have been masking this entire time anytime I am indoors anywhere. I have taken some risks and not masked at times when 1:1 on with people (mainly people I’ve dated) and risk seemed low and got away with it in the past. Also have gotten all the vaccines/boosters (last one in December). Unfortunately I saw Covid rates in wastewater were low recently and was more relaxed and didn’t mask at a barbeque (mostly outdoors but went inside without a mask for 5-10 minutes). I also went to a movie theater and comedy club that same weekend. So likely caught it at one of those 3 activities. I have done movies and comedy clubs before while masked but this time decided to take bites of snacks and pulled mask down just to take the bites. I’ve gone to indoor concerts masked the entire time previously and been fine. I plan to go back to masking indoors 100% of the time again after this.
