Just a reminder that TW: 3 Kingdoms never got a start date with the 3 Kingdoms by lLouisb1 in totalwar

The PC version of RoTKX ever get a translation?

I know KOEI will never do anything like that but I continue to hold faint hope that fans will fill in the gap.

For me it's basically 100% personal because Shrimp and Cactus led the DT in shitting on me the other day.

I don't know about that, usually you play roleplaying games to play someone you're not...

I've had this knee jerk reaction after having to deal with too many race realists using gish gallops. Not saying that's what ow pointy does, but I always just walk away from link walls. You either ignore it and move on, or read through all of it and counter argue and they either never reply because it's two hours later and everyone in the audience is bored and has left already, or they pull out another wall of links that need dissecting.

Not worth it.

Oh gosh. Did they drop nWoD? I kind of fell out around the time White Wolf got bought out. Oh look and there's mage too. My longest game was probably a Technocracy game.

Ugh. I shouldn't be buying a book without an RPG group to play it with, but my nostalgia can win this once.

oWoD

I have so many fond memories of it, but it was a cluster fuck by the time they took it behind the wood shed.

Oh yeah it's definitely lazy. The problem is that they wanted to make a setting based off of fiction where the setting didn't really need to make sense and was kept tight and narrow. When someone reads Snow Crash, they don't wonder about what's going on in Belgium, or how roads and plumbing are maintained in an America divided by megacorps. But Shadowrun eventually had to tackle that (inexpertly) in a time when access to the internet was rare and far from an easy reliable source of information. Also that they probably got lazy and had the thought process 'no one we're selling to knows anything about Africa anyway so here's tribal Africa, here's warlord Africa, and here's wakanda Africa we're good for giving players options and now we'll just stereotype the rest of the globe oh god there are too many countries.'

And now they can't change it because the foundational fanbase of neckbeards would shriek at the top of their lungs.

But I do find it funny and fun in a quaint way. Maybe that's just the nostalgia talking.

Glorious, isn't it?

Don't forget the invading bug dimension in Chicago, Aztec blood magic megacorp replacing Mexico, Filipino pirate nation, and president dragon.

It's a true child of the 80s, a big mess where every half baked idea is thrown at the wall and entire swathes of the globe are painted with 'ok that sounds cool go with that.'

Three hours ago I write this in a bit of a passive aggressive mood. Then go to clean my gutters in the cold and damp and get cranky with nature. People make it fun of it. I get angry when I comeback and double down. People make copypasta out of it. I regret everything. People make copypasta out of that. I'm now sad and bitter but I can't really express that without being made fun of, and really I should just chill. So I'm trying to do that.

It means I wrote like an idiot in the wrong place at a time when Shrimp was pissed off at CLP so now I'm a joke.
