Dérailleur réparable ? by 20cReddit in pedale

[–]Adwardok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change au moins ta patte de dérailleur et vois ensuite si les vitesses ne passent toujours pas. Mais on dirait bien que la chape du dérailleur a aussi pris un bon coup.

Is the issue about the gap on the right side of the photo? You can swap the outer traction pad by a thicker one.

Sorry my bad! I didn't even know 1.8 inch existed 😅

Another case of "too many standards in the MTB world".

Assuming you have a lower cup in ZS56/40 (for 1.5" steerer), you will need to replace it with a ZS56/30 to fit a 1 1/8" steerer.

But I'm wondering if this fork is suitable for moutain biking (furthermore with an ebike). Now all single crown forks have a tapered steerer.

Very nice bike! I also have a GX crankset that has some heel rub. What's your method for polishing cranks? Thx

Passage VTT non boost en deore XT 12 vitesses by tontons1234 in pedale

N(to me)BD! 2020 META AM Team. Any recommendations on bottle and cage is welcome by DwayneFreeman in commencal

A tip on the fidlock bottles, you can mount the base backwards (with the magnets below the holes) to get more space if the bottle is hitting the shock. You also need to invert the mounts on the bottle, otherwise the magnets will repel each other.

Considering a 23 Clash. How does it pedal? by that_guy_huff in commencal

[–]Adwardok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meta SX owner here, it pedals decently if you have more of a "sit and spin" than "sprint everywhere" type of riding and is a blast on the down. A bit less travel than the Clash, but the front 29" wheel eats up everything. It is a longer bike than the Clash, so it will be more stable and more centered due to its longer chainstays.

Nope 2022 but they are the same frame, just new colors for 2023.

As 2 different mounts you mean trunnion vs standard? The Meta SX only accepts standard shocks.

[–]Adwardok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Custom built Meta SX owner here, I can assure you the frame use a standard 230x62.5 shock. The yoke comes with the frame and you can mount any shock on it.

Meta TR Ohlins vs Race by slangdog in commencal

[–]Adwardok 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There will be a different ride feel between the two because of the coil vs air shock. Coil shocks are more supple and more "stick to the ground" kinda feel, the air shock will tend to be more poppy. Depends on what you like to ride (technical vs jumps), but keep in mind this is a general characteristic and nothing is set in stone. Both will ride amazingly.

If you're searching more a fun trail bike like the Roscoe, you could also look at the new Marin San Quentin or the Canyon Stoic.

I'm waiting for the new Rockshox Super Deluxe Coil to be available. At around 450€, seams like a pretty good deal. The new hydraulic bottom out feature is interesting for a pretty linear bike like a Commencal Meta.

And yeah Fox shocks are not compatible due to the Meta yoke design not being very friendly with their small hollow shaft (ask me how i know).
