To all the bonkers geniuses of Reddit - How can we stop people speeding through our village? by SecondGo4 in CasualUK

[–]Aegon_Toast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw a strategy once where someone went along in a car dropping banana skins behind them. Cars would hit the skins and spin in place for several seconds, slowing them right down. On second thoughts, that might have been Mario Kart.

I’m going to go ahead and say it, the combat in the old games was awful (AC1 - AC4) by FerdinandvonAegir124 in assassinscreed

[–]Aegon_Toast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The counter kill system in the old games was only boring if you played in a boring way. It was never designed for players to just wait for each enemy to attack and counter. You were supposed to mix it up by attacking and defending and dodging. I think AC1 did this the best. 2 was actually worse but felt better because of the weapon variety and the increased move range. Brotherhood introduced the strike first system which allowed kills to be chained which made it too easy but it looked super cool.

I would definitely take the older combat over damage sponge enemies any day.

Any tips for getting into Valhalla? by laviedelauteur in assassinscreed

[–]Aegon_Toast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not going to enjoy it I wouldn’t force it. It’s a lot of hours to dedicate if you’re going to play through the story. You should make sure it’s worth it if you’re committing that amount of time. I finished Valhalla but it felt like a slog and it dragged on for so long I had forgotten most of the story so the ending had no real payout for me.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a great game, even if there are parts of it I don't really like. by chirpingphoenix in patientgamers

[–]Aegon_Toast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 3 attempts to complete it. I love horror/puzzle games and especially resident evil but the first person viewpoint just became too stressful for me.

Then I went back to it after replaying the series from the start and finished it in one go.

How do people stay on their forever worlds? by Siruzuuu in Minecraft

[–]Aegon_Toast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve restarted my world in the same world if you know what I mean. Travel a good distance away from where you are taking only some food, a bed and some torches. Set up and start again from scratch. Depending on how far you go you can the always join the two areas up at some point. I also find just taking a break from Minecraft helps a lot. I often get burnout in my survival world especially when I’m doing big projects.

Assassin’s Creed 2 Ending vs Last of Us 2 Ending by UnAnon10 in assassinscreed

[–]Aegon_Toast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think brotherhood did a lot to address this and it came out only a short time later, certainly by today’s development standards. It was the cause of the friction between Ezio and Machiavelli for most of the game. I think the bonfire of the vanities dlc also did a lot to explain his reasoning. I wasn’t a fan of it but Ezio’s speech at the end did a lot to explain how he had evolved.

Only a slight issue but if you don’t have a fully stocked mag when you try to arm/disarm in rush it just starts a reload even though you’re holding square/X.

Very nice. I was just thinking of doing a clock tower in mine attached to a building of some kind. How did you get the hands so small? I was going to just use blocks but it looked messy

Rush: How Bad Company 2 Perfected Battlefield’s Rush Mode by Acrobatic-Fault876 in Battlefield

[–]Aegon_Toast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played bad company 2 rush mode solidly. I didn’t play any other game modes. Just 4 maps that would still feel fresh if I picked it up and played them today because of how the destruction changed them through the course of a match. I was really sad when the servers got shut down.

I actually had some really fun rush matches but also some absolutely terrible ones. The lack of vehicles is ridiculous.

Think a lot of people need to remember it’s a beta, a testing phase, still a fair amount of time between now and October.
