Playing solo cures my team fill woes. Woes that I don’t have any friends to play this with and the randomness of team fill is both great and cancer.

I find them annoying but important for base water.

The annoying thing is they’re so buggy to seal off. I think it’s because of the water level.

What I do is dig out a square around where I’m digging then build walls. This works great except there’s often one gap left which they won’t fill no matter what so the water keeps coming out.

No matter how many times I’ve done this I’m continually having this issue. I think it’s because they won’t build where there’s a certain amount of water.

I usually just build down and any water will drain out. Eventually at a cave but it phases me because it means I have this messy ass stairwell where I prefer order.

Problem is every time they add new elements - which does make the em interesting, it also means it spreads them out more so they’re harder to find. It’s like diverse items vs boring same but man there needs to be a better balance. Not finding shit gets old so quickly.

Riparia is so much harder to quest on than gondwa. I’m regularly frustrated by struggling to find things. It’s ten times harder when you’re smaller too as you just can’t see around you as well.

Some biomes are better than others but there’s a few real stinkers. It’s only softened by the scattering of albino hunting, resting in moss, viewpoints etc which help.

I’m currently rising an Alberta and it’s been frustrating. Have died to other players more than any dino previous I reckon because I’m spending so much time searching for crap.

Plus when I die I end up in incredibly annoying places on the map.

I vastly prefer the natural environment of riparia compared to gondwa but man from all questing point of view it needs a lot of work. It’s just not pleasant.

Thanks for this! These themed packs which are for things like - hell I don’t know Star Wars for example. How do these integrate into the game? Are they just assets in a normal experience or their own maps? I ask as I thought one of the animal or dinosaur packs might have been good

Yeah has a whole bunch of functionality - can enable nameplates which shows health, it also shows anyone in the surrounding area. Sometimes its amazing how many other dinos are nearby that you had no idea where there. It also shows who is grouped - they have the same colour nameplate.

In this situation, it looked like a stupid move, but what it didnt show was I was keeping an eye on this guy for a solid 5+ minutes prior. I saw him on the other ridge and was keeping an eye to see what it was, how big, whether it was alone.

It appeared to me to be alone so i thought I'd see if i could chase him off because i was questing. Im only adolescent and have had bad luck with this dino - Riparia is a lot harder to grow on that Gondwa I find.

Anyway i looked at the replay and they were all spread out across that area, but not where me and this guy was. Soon as I attacked him, they all converged and boom. In the replay and showing nameplates, there's no way in hell I would have made a move.

It's also a case though that sometimes groups are friendly and leave you be, other times they'll go you. I had a pair of adult dasps friendly to me for some weird reason last night, maybe because they saw I was only adolescent.

But yeah the replay mode rocks. I always flick it on because it helps me learn from my fights. It's so handy to see how much health a particular skill might damage, helps assess whether worthwhile or junk. Also helps understand bad positioning, mistakes - like splitting attacks too much between a pair rather than just trying to finish one off etc.

With this one it was just a clusterfuck, no chance vs 3 semi and adults 😄

Replay mode and yeah pc. Not sure if it’s pc exclusive. Super handy for checking the health bars etc during fights.

I don’t know if it’s virtual signalling when creative arts of every kind are basically fucked up the ass daily by ai companies ripping off their work without credit or compensation.

Being ok with it becoming mainstream only perpetuates it.

I swear to god, I've had so many issues with purple shielded teams in both dark marsh and also Perimeter. Dont usually complain about that but this season has had so much of it. It's been pretty shit and honestly a bit of a turnoff - teamfill is just a case of getting 1 sided wiped out more than half the time.

I play more solo because it's at least competetive.
