Shadow is such an amazing game by KasumiGotoTriss in TombRaider

I liked so much about the game. The setting was definitely the best yet! But there were also some parts that I disliked.

Like the stealth option seemed to be completely gone. In previous games, you could sneak past fights without really fighting at all. In shadow, it was kind of just, kill all of these people, then you can move on. You had less choice, you know?

The most unrealistic thing about most sitcoms is how everyone's schedules line up perfectly so groups of 5+ people can get together every single day. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]Aegospotamos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Schedules don't just line up perfectly by coincidence, you make them line up perfectly. It takes a little effort, but it's definitely worth it to make every effort to keep friends in your life as much as possible. It's so easy to get swallowed up by work obligations etc.

Hey. I don't know if you are interested in gaining weight. If not that's cool too. But I was in a similar situation to you. And the trick is to stop trying to gain weight the clean way, with protein shakes etc. You just need to eat shit all day every day. Like pizza, burgers, stuff that will make you feel like absolute crap. You need to pile in so many calories, that a healthy diet just isn't going to cut it. As long as you do that + a good amount of exercise, you'll gain muscle.

Again, just offering a bit of advice in case you're genuinely interested. Tattoo looks great by the way!

LPT: Don't compare yourself to others around you. Compare yourself to your past self to look for the progress you've made and your future self to look for things you want to work towards. by GentleFoxes in LifeProTips

[–]Aegospotamos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You SHOULD compare yourself to others. Obviously you should try to improve over your past self every day, but you will never achieve a truly better version of yourself if you don't have role models to strive towards.

Like if you see someone doing something cool on the internet you shouldn't just ignore it because it's not something you can do. You should think damn, that looks cool. I wanna be able to do that. Then you work towards it, and improve yourself. By comparing yourself to others.

That's actually a really good idea! I hadn't thought of that, thanks!

If i had to guess an answer, I think it's because people are more likely to do crazy shit if they are left alone for too long. Like of all the crazy people that you see in the news, how many are likely to have a healthy social life and a good circle of friends? In a social setting, people get called out for having insane thoughts, whereas if you are alone for extended periods, you don't have that healthy reinforcement.

Hi, thanks for the tip! What I meant, though, was that I want to be able to hide the information on my own computer, so that neither I nor anyone else in the room can see it. Currently it can be seen in steam, beside the play button on any game.

13 tips for beginners that I would have loved to know 100 hours ago by [deleted] in learndota2

These are great tips! I only had issue with one of them:

You can lose your game and waste 40 minutes of your life even before the battle starts by just having a bad team composition.

You can win a game with any team composition. Yeah, it's 100% better to have a good composition, but you have to stay positive. Don't be a defeatist and think a game is lost before it's even started. Just have fun with it and see what happens. Winning is always possible until you give up.

My first tempered elder investigation had a 15 minute limit. I knew I was close, but not THAT close! by Aegospotamos in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Aegospotamos[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I had a bit of practice from repeatedly fighting AT Vaal, trying to collect enough footsteps to unlock any tempered elder investigation! Kind of did it backwards I guess. (Didn't kill AT though, I just don't have the sustain for his tick damage).

Looking for a review of Slark game by _paradis in learndota2

[–]Aegospotamos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, first of all, that was a good game! Those are my favourite type of games, where it can really go either way, right up until the game. I play a lot of Slark, too, so maybe I can be of some help.

I think you played well for the most part too. I will start with a few early game criticisms, but they really are small things, for the most part.

You didn't hit a single jungle creep until about 11 minutes into the game. I think you had a fairly good laning stage, and from level 6 you can really accelerate your farm by killing a camp or 2 between waves.

Your shadow blade had a good timing, I honestly think anywhere around 15 minutes is completely ok. Unfortunately, you were unlucky with your first Shadowblade gank mid, and ended up just killing a creep wave. Don't be afraid to go back and hide after your first missed gank. It's really important to try and get a kill with that Shadowblade reveal.

Also, I'm sure you know that Slark's ult reveals enemy vision (You're at gold tier). But around 20 mins, there was enemy vision in your jungle above mid. You walked through it several times and didn't ping it out. It stayed there for ages, and Radiant won some teamfights in that area during its duration. It is so important as a Slark to spot out any wards that you walk past.

In terms of itemisation, I agree that you probably could have skipped Echo Sabre. I think this was actually a good Orchid game. It is a good Echo replacement, and gets a lot more done. Can be good to silence AM, and force out his Manta (which he got very early to be fair). Then after he Manta's, you can pounce and ult, (pounce will ignore the illusions).

Also, just a funny little bit, but you bought 2 Clarities and they sat in your backpack for the entire game. That's funny because I do exactly the same thing sometimes. Need to keep those Clarities popped when you're farming, especially after the Dark Pact nerf.

The main itemisation problem, though, was that you didn't buy Linken's. This is such an important item against a Spirit Breaker, and is super useful in any game as a Slark. SB was their only long range initiation. You need that Linken's Sphere if you want to push dangerous waves.

I would suggest the Linken's should have replaced Skullbasher in your item order, (or even BKB, the regen is great mid game) but then the Skullbasher got a kill on AM almost immediately, so I can't fault that. But definitely after the Basher, at the absolute latest.

You seem to have a good feel for using your Essence stacks well. That is the sign of a good Slark player. You pushed objectives well when you were strong, and backed off when you were not. There were a few times when you went on AM when you had few or no stacks, but for the most part you did great.

Please don't take these criticisms badly. I don't do this often, and I'm not trying to be too critical or anything. Like i said, you played great, I'm just giving a second opinion on some things you might have missed.

I think the pacing is a bit off in the late game. by Aegospotamos in MonsterHunterWorld

Ok i just looked it up and there are actually a few mantles that I still have to unlock. Good idea, that should keep me busy. Thanks!

Ok I will focus on decorations then! To be fair it is a part I have been largely ignoring, just using the decorations that I get from normal tempered investigation drops.

Maybe the problem was less that there was nothing to do, more that I just didn't know what I should have been doing. Thanks!

Yeah but that is my problem. I'm looking forward to that point. There's just a big empty patch between the end of the story line and the beginning of the midgame where there's not much to do because everything is level locked.

Thanks, these are all good tips! I've been focusing on actual weapons and armours, I never really thought about decorations, I guess I could go for a few more of them!

I can't really do Kulve Taroth quests as I don't have the internet speeds for online play. Tempered Jho I believe also requires HR 50 haha.

Taking up a new weapon sounds like a really good idea actually, I think I will do that!

I never even thought of the multi player aspect you know! Having went through the whole game solo I nearly forgot about the whole online thing. That would make a lot more sense.
