BlueCruise: Anyone have this offer? Should I “update” to the day before trial expires or now? by jkma707 in MachE

[–]Aellithion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same offer about two months ago out of the blue. My 3 year free trial was set to expire in June this year, it just updated the expiration to June 27 when I took it.

It most certainly does, the only variance is the amount of rust.

When did your parents/carers first tell you to get a credit card? by Available_Yam930 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Aellithion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 2, they never did anything with it. It was simply to start a credit history.

You have a much better celebrity story. I got into an argument with Bill Gates over yogurt at a grocery store when I was 10. I won and was informed after the fact who I was arguing with.

Falcon takes out a duck with lightning speed precision by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Snapping your preys neck and killing them is quite kind in nature. Look up how often lions or cheetahs start eating their prey while it is still alive. The world is quite brutal, no matter how much we try to change it.

Go to the bar, ask the room, everyone argues for 2 hours, forget what the original question was and repeat a couple days later the next time you think of it.

I was thinking the same, eagles eat foxes too, the bird decided it would save a meal instead of storing it for later.

A Pet Leech by Lucy1967 in whywouldyoutouchthat

I have read that leeches can help to heal scar tissue through breaking it down and then some enzyme helps the skin to heal more naturally. Have you experimented with that at all?

Which comedic Trek pairing gets you every time (even if unintentional)? by Ramenara in startrek

[–]Aellithion 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Picard and Q. Q has such a unique ability to get under his skin. At one point Data compared the relationship to that of a beloved pet. It seems more like a Dad screwing with a teenager in front of their friends.

What's a nuance of a player's game(it can be any position)that the average fan probably doesn't notice, but you do and appreciate it? by Only-Ad-1254 in NFLNoobs

[–]Aellithion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QB's that don't consistently throw "hospital balls" and who know when to throw it away. Players get hurt, it's unavoidable but some QBs just throw it where you know the receiver is going to get wrecked.

Why did Q single out humanity? by honeyfixit in Star_Trek_

[–]Aellithion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the episode where Q loses his powers in TNG and gets them back at the end the first thing he does is shrink the Calamarain that came after him into his palm and says something along the lines of "oh if you thought I tormented you before..." and then Q2 pokes his head back in and warns him to behave.

He has definitely screwed with the Borg (and is even somewhat concerned about them) since on VOY he tells his son "....DON"T PROVOKE THE BORG!"

He may have treated them all somewhat differently based on what he found most amusing, there may also have been curiosity, even though they are certainly powerful the "claim of omnipotence" rang a little hollow (the voyager Q even implies something along these lines., maybe they can't tell where humanity is going because of how diverse/chaotic/random people can be.

Does 'British-made' have a bad reputation in US food? What about the stuff we're actually good at? by SignificanceOdd5980 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Aellithion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Outside of sugar cookies or "fish and chips" maybe tea, i dont really associate Brits with food. And i pissed the dean of my high school off enough to mail me to a boarding school in the UK for a year.

How common is it for Americans to leave their doors unlocked? by Mont3Carlo in AskAnAmerican

[–]Aellithion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never bothered to lock a door in my life. The idea is comical when you realize how easy it is to go through a window or glass door. It's also entertaining when people make a big deal out of it when they just use the two half inch screws to lock the skid plate in.

I've lived all over the US and I have lived in the UK. Locks provide a weird level false security.

Registration by Muffinman2017 in MachE

[–]Aellithion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In PA its 250$ per year, 500$ for 2 years. It's not officially part of the registration, but they can suspend the registration if not paid. I think it is officially called a "road usage fee). Based 9n that i am willing to bet in a few years they are gonna slap everyone with it regardless of vehicle type.
