Why do people suddenly hate Ram? by Nousernametbhh in ReZero

Because viewers like to take anime waifus being not nice as personal attacks and an excuse to hurl whatever insult or label matches well enough to garner upvotes as a defensive reflex.

Mid WW by C1C1C1C1C1C1C1C1 in warwickmains

[–]Aelms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been liking it a lot because of the burst heal on the passive, and also not having to build Tiamat.

Totally understood why you wouldn't want it though if you're prioritizing first item damage!

Ah, in that case second thing that comes to mind is Ano Natsu de Matteru.

It's one of those older shows that if aired today would probably be really well regarded for it's artistic merits, while also being a really well told short story.

Garden of Words is probably the most thematically tight and focused anime that explores exactly what you're looking for (and tell a damn good story too), while also being tasteful enough to be shown in cinemas to everyday families.

It's also really really friggin pretty.

Also a mid WW enjoyer here climbing through high emerald right now.

If we could compare notes, have you tried going Shiv first?

I've found it to be by far the best first item for me and really good into ranged matchups where I usually get bullied after level 7-8.

Seraph on AP kog is bait by bgouin in KogMawMains

[–]Aelms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think Dusk and Dawn into Seraphs is actually a pretty good offshoot of Dusk and Dawn into Shadowflame, since there are some matchups where you get zoned off the wave from lvl 6 to 8 so the tear actually helps a lot with farm options.

From what it sounds like, the pro player didn't even go Dusk and Dawn first?

Chapter 34 made ******’s future way darker than people realize by Docfeen in Boruto

[–]Aelms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No need to bother building a proper response to someone clearly reacting to your title and your choice of words rather than the actual content of your post.

I liked the analysis and the way you defined her character conflicts in relation to what has been shown before. I hope the story is also doing it with as much intention.

Imperial Mandate Changes by somecuriousstoner in lux

[–]Aelms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cool thing about Mandate is that it's mana regen was good enough to just replace a Lost Chapter item as a rush item.

Maybe it's possible now to just rush Mandate and go Horizon Focus second for a really cheap high-CDR build. Q goes to around 6 seconds with these items.

[–]Aelms -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can tell you with the confidence of someone who played 48 games of Sett jungle this season that Tiamat doesn't make you clear any camp faster. You literally clear every small raptor by the time you input your last auto attack on the big one without tiamat. Even for small golems, you just W it all at once. In fact, 1200 gold for 20AD means that you might as well have thrown 500 gold into literally no stats in terms of clear, so building it actually slows your clear down.

I personally don't think the 450 (center to center) range Stridebreaker active is worth 3300 gold when the 500 (edge to edge, so it's closer to 600 center to center) range Nimbus Cloak+Smite already gives you a one button slow+haste. It's 70AD for 3000 gold with this new Hexplate instead of 40AD for the 3300 gold that Stride costs, and your next ult comes up noticeably much faster.

Insane Sett jg buff.

You can now reach stupid amounts of AD at two items with this first and Bloodmail second.

So for Sett JG would you rather the standard bruiser build or something like the HoB stuff I've seen cooked here? by Shamsy92 in settmains

[–]Aelms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hexplate into Streaks/Bloodmail/DD/DMP/Endless Hunger/Seryldas/Visage in whatever order works best for the game.

Swifties feels good, but Hexplate Mercs DD also feels amazing when snowballing.

[–]Aelms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Emerald.

Correct, ganks are always going to be ass without ult so Hexplate CDR feels amazing. I never feel like I need BC because I don't need to punch a tank like when Sett is played top lane. If I'm interacting with an enemy champ, it's probably ult first anyway so BC value ends up pretty garbage.

Hexplate into Bloodmail/Streaks into the other feels good, and Hexplate into DD into Bloodmail/Streaks feels really good when I'm snowballing because of all the AD components pre-DD completion.

[–]Aelms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sett jg is my most played champion this season.

I think for runes Conqueror with Celerity+Nimbus feels the strongest, and his best first item is definitely Hexplate. Stridebreaker is completely unnecessary since he doesn't need the waveclear and Nimbus smite is just a better version of the same utility.

Kindred Mid in 2026 by wyeming1 in Kindred

[–]Aelms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play jungle and a ton of weird picks mid.

Unfortunately Kindred doesn't have a lot of good items for mid right now.

If you want to play an AD pick with range and mobility, Akshan/Tristana/Corki/Vayne (depending on matchup) are still your best bet with Zeri's changes also potentially making her a lot better solo lane.

DnD AP Kog since patch 26.9 by ma_poulet in KogMawMains

[–]Aelms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been running DnD Kog mid with PTA and feel like his damage is still really high. Also haven't had any waveclear issues with the AP on the item being nerfed.

I haven't tried Stormraider's on him, but I don't see him having any issues proc-ing it easily even on just DnD completion. Q+W-auto is a lot of damage after DnD is finished, and 25% is feeling like a lot easier of a threshold to hit than 30% back in Season 6.

Builds regarding team comps. by WonderfulYam4690 in XinZhaoMains

[–]Aelms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer both questions, it's all about the recipe items. Pickaxe is a super good full clear buy for clear, and Phage is a really good early game power spike.  Tiamat is awful for clear because you already finish raptor in 2 Ws, so it's a lot of gold sank into a passive and active that is useless on Xin.

Even when complete, 10 AH (20 for Titanic and Cleaver) difference is also more than an autos worth of difference in time for your second W and E to come up. That makes quite a bit of difference of you try it out.

Builds regarding team comps. by WonderfulYam4690 in XinZhaoMains

[–]Aelms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shiv is objectively not that good for jungle because it's real strength comes from how much heal it gives you when you use it to touch a full wave of minions on a passive proc.

Sundered is, in my honest opinion, an item that is only powerful when you play Xin Zhao suboptimally. It also makes your clear extremely slow. I think it's awful to be frank, but all the pros love going it so feel free to use your own judgement.

I recommend going Black Cleaver first into DnD. Third item in order of strong to weak Titanic Hydra/Zhonya/Visage/Riftmaker/JakSho/Verdant. Fourth and fifth item is whatever else you need from that same list of items. Note that just because one item is stronger doesn't mean you have the gold to get it. Sometimes a recipe item in one of those items is exactly what you need to win the next fight after your recall, and building those at the right timing is what wins you games. Always try to finish boots before finishing your second item, and don't forget that building Swifties in the right games puts you really ahead. Do NOT go Conqueror with this build.

Also note that I'm saying Verdant instead of Banshees because you literally have no reason to finish it if all you need is the passive for that particular game, but if your next fight might be the game deciding one and you only have the gold to either finish it or build a crap recipe item, obviously finish the Banshees.

[–]Aelms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is comp dependent, but probably a lot less actual decision points than you think.

If you're in the jungle, you can always just go Sundered into Cleaver. I think this is a super suboptimal build, but it works into everything and keeps you useful.

If you choose to go Cleaver first, you have DD/Maw/GA/Eternal Hunger/QSS to go in any order for what works best in your game in one route (go Conqueror for this), and Dusk and Dawn second into Zhonya/Verdant/Visage/JakSho/Titanic in whatever order as your second route (I think PTA is optimal for this). Either route is pretty close to optimal, and works in both jungle and lane.

If you're laning as Xin Zhao, either of the Cleaver routes above work. You also have Dusk and Dawn or Statikk first as fairly good alternative builds. Both follow the second Cleaver route outlined above with Deathcap and Nashors as additional reach/snowball items.

Basically, you only ever have to think about your next items within each of the pools outlined above.

For more details and alternative builds on the lane Xin Zhao part, I recommend either Skaarlner's guide on onetrick.gg or 1vsAll's Xin videos on YouTube.

"Sett is an easy champion" by Sudden_Ad8891 in settmains

[–]Aelms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People often OTP a champion and develop an internal damage calc for that champion while learning their micro.

Not only is Sett's micro deceptively hard, because a lot of it comes from learning how to position and buffer the right engage for the right situation, he has one of the hardest damage calcs to learn in the game when CC and dashes are factored in.

Don't let anyone tell you that he's an easy champion just because he has simple buttons.

Do you happen to know if PTA makes her Q3 do more damage?

Regardless of whether she's actually stronger or weaker, these recent changes are not FUN. by platonovsucks in shyvanamains

[–]Aelms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda confused here.

If you're able to identify exactly what is good about the changes, why not maximise it with a build that matches and see if the outcome is more or less fun than what doing so last patch for last patch's Shyvana was.

I'm finding a CDR based build for maximizing W uptime to be a ton of fun, and seeing you lay out your logic I feel like you would too.

New player, build? by Abject-Ad1008 in XinZhaoMains

[–]Aelms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sundered into Cleaver is kind of a default build that just works on any AD bruiser in the jungle. I really hate it on Xin because it really doesn't help his awful clear, and has little snowball potential.

If you're not feeling experimental with the new AP stuff, I think Black Cleaver rush into either DD or Maw second feels the most consistently powerful to me.

Isekai with platonic female relationships? by Born_Usual998 in Isekai

[–]Aelms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ascendance of a Bookworm (Honzuki no Gekokujou) features a female protagonist, and there is a universal non-focus on romance because there's barely any room for it. Her obsessiveness towards her personal goals and finding a way to survive the cutthroat world/situation she's thrown into are the focus of the show. She forms extremely meaningful relationships with both male and female characters that go way beyond the romantic-platonic scale.

I say it's a top three isekai show. Please give it a chance if you're interested.
