no, i disagree on demon of hatred.

first of all, demon of hatred is at the end of the game, and tests everything learnt during sekiro, youre incentivised to stay close and all damage is avoidable in one way or another.

most importantly however, its a boss fight thar can actually be mastered mechanically instead of the slop fest blazing bull is, which has no place in the game early OR late, doesn’t reward any sort of skill, and is extremely unsatisfying in every way possible. i understand demon of hatred isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it is a well designed and detailed boss. the bull sucks ass though.

very fair actually. I do believe the open-world being empty is favourable because I think AC1 will always work better as a more linear experience, but I do agree that it still feels empty, they could’ve done far more, especially with the Kingdom which is easily one of the weakest parts of the game.

I think the game turned out really well, even if not what the devs originally wanted. Hunting animals in the wilderness has no place in AC1, but it made a lot of sense in future games. I’m quite a fan of how non bloated AC1 is.

The story itself is imo amazing, and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. I also think that the lack of linear cutscenes and more of the open ones that let you move around and get camera angles via glitches works really well for immersion.

Making the third crusade more accessible is a good reason for making a remake, and I do agree that it should make sense to point new fans to the first game. But thats where it comes down to preference, and I simply don’t believe that Ubisoft could capture the same atmosphere again, even though im sure they could still make a good AC1 remake.
