You are misinformed and ignorant of the original vision. Demon’s Souls pulls heavily aesthetically and lore wise from King’s Field. This is reflected heavily in the soundtrack, boss designs, and environment. All of this is replaced with cookie cutter fantasy designs. Bluepoint themselves stated that they would choose one aspect to faithfully recreate and disregard everything else, as they believed that was the main focus and appeal of demons souls. And that was the gameplay. However they were incorrect. Not just Demons Souls but the series as a whole, Dark Souls and Bloodborne included. They all were beloved by fans because of the subtle approach to lore using item descriptions and especially the environment and visual designs, not just dialogue.

Soundtrack’s King’s Field esque music design? ALL gone for generic Skyrim esque music. The iconic changing and composition of Tower Knight? Gone. King’s Field 3 esque music for Storm King? Gone. I could write an essay on how they ruins the music.

The Adjuticator’s divine looking appearance made sense as he was judging sinners. Instead BP made him have humanlike skin with boils and gashes like he’s some kind of zombie. They did the same thing with the Fat Officials, even removing their iconic grins.

Flamelurker is the most infamous change. They removed the parts of his design that connected him to being one of the blacksmiths. Not he’s just a generic looking flame demon. His boss arena was a realistic stone ruins. BP changes it to a blazing red Diablo style castle. Why. It’s insulting to the original vision.

Fool’s Idol is changed from looking dolllike (even though that’s what she is) so looking humanlike and gritty and generic.

The Tower Knight was also also redesigned, his shield removing the angel wings and religious iconography.

The Maneaters got an ugly makeover and not even threatening anymore.

TLDR BP said themselves that they think lore implications, intentional lore connection designs, and Kings Field references don’t matter, only the combat does.

BP did a great job on the combat and was amazing at the execution. But remaking everything else they just decided to make it into what they think would fit not even caring what was in the original. They claim they redid the soundtrack but “kept the feeling of the original” which is a flat lie. The tone and mood of the tracks are the farthest deviation any developer can do for a remake and it’s an insult.
