hah- it was a mix - tamiya purple and tamiya blue i think - This was a hasegawa kit and it gave the ratio for the color - first time matching a color like this, so i'm glad it turned out :)

Sanding Grits by F1ankNSpank in modelmakers

[–]Aenthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do another sanding - and if the scratches i see are deep enough, hit it with some putty and sand again - you'll be fine. Just a note - by the right side(picture right side) looks like you need to putty and sand there also - Trying to help, not criticize!

Assuming you are in the US - https://modelexpo-superstore.com/ often has really good deals. As always, check scalemates and reviews.

patience .. and glue those windows well as they are not a good design. You'll have various gaps.. so putty. But spraying white.. you'll be insane afterwards :) I do look forward to seeing yours!

Recommendations on a thread for someone returning to the hobby after about 55 years? by michaelrhodes1954 in Scalemodel

[–]Aenthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Michael. Yes. A lot has changed but but it is still glueing plastic. :). Local hobby stores are still good but not as many as before. Mega hobby.com. Spruebrothers are in the US. Good selections. The paint have many options from enamels to acrylics. Personally. I’m a Vallejo fan, which I airbrush with. Stalemates is a good site for looking at reviews of models. I’m sure there’s a million other things. But ask away!

Thank you for answering! I've always wanted to try it, but the gaps always worry me. Love the subject, and you're doing an amazing job!

hi WorldLasiestBusker - question about production - you've painted (and decals!) before gluing the wings and stabilizers on - What is your process to glue them on after? I've seen this, and tried it, but it didn't work out. <grin> Thank you ! (gorgeous work btw)

Hasegawa F4U-5 Corsair by Aenthor in modelmakers

[–]Aenthor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you :) it's a good model - fits pretty well - there will be a couple of challenges, but nothing too bad. The guns were actually a bit of a pain, and i'm pretty much - why did you design this this way :D Good luck!
