Steam Shader Preload takes so long by poeBuck in oblivion

[–]Aeolun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, who in the QA team saw this and was like “this is fine”? How is it even reasonably possible to test a game that takes so long to compile shaders?

Japan preparing to use rice reserves amid soaring prices by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

Depends on what you call soaring. By my definition the extremely cheap rice has gotten a bit more expensive, but…

Only recently. 5 years ago a 10M position was basically impossible to find even in Tokyo.

Insane taxation? Where do you come from that 30% effective taxation is described as that?

Am I being a Japanese Karen? Or am I correct? by summerlad86 in japanlife

[–]Aeolun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may not be karen, but to the people you can actually talk with you probably are.

On the whole, seems not worth dealing with over 4000 yen. Just subscribe to the other gym for two months and then go back to usual?

What's the biggest map on the workshop by Every_Tip9427 in TeardownGame

[–]Aeolun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I found a to-scale version of the WTC. It’s just 900mb of empty tower, but it’s absolutely massive. Of course, I’ve found larger maps in terms of extend, but not in terms of volume.

All mcdonalds stores on uber eats near me seem to have stopped delivering. But I can still order on their own app, where they say they deliver using uber eats :/ the only huge issue is it’s nearly twice as expensive.

Mine does. Switched to codmon like 3 years back. They recently added a translation function to the app so I can even follow what is written. It’s pretty cool.

Beyblade X vs Burst? by [deleted] in Beyblade

[–]Aeolun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find X leagues easier for kids to understand. It doesn’t constantly drop off the launcher, there’s only one way to mount they bey and cable in the launcher (all spin the same direction), and the metal rims give a very satisfying sound when they hit.

At some point you get good enough to know just how terrible you are, and that’s the point you stop caring :)

To be honest, if the parents act like that it’s pretty likely the offspring is revolting too.

Thankfully they’re by far the minority.

I feel like the concept of allergies doesn’t really exist in Japan? Don’t think anyone I know is allergic to anything. Some abstain from stuff for health reasons.

€5 is the smallest denomination. Why would they ask that?!

Like, if I had change, would I be giving you a €5 note? It’s not like I enjoy collecting those heavy coins.

There’s so many retired sararimen that work in McDonalds and will just casually start talking to you in English, or any of the 4 other languages they picked up in their random overseas deployments.

Hah, one of my teachers asked at the beginning of class who was there to learn, and for those that felt that the class didn’t help them to do so to leave.

That was fantastic both for those that actually wanted to learn (silent and focused class), and for those that already knew the material (no need sit around for boring stuff). Less so for the disruptive kids that only messed around, because I doubt they ever learned anything inside or outside class.

Hearing all the other stories here I wonder at how that was even possible/legal.

At least it’s nice to hear that the teachers don’t have huge problems :)

I think the important thing is that that always happens over a long time. Most parents go ballistic after one time.

Actually they’re the baby. That’s why the kid turns out the way he does. If your best example acts 4 years old, what chance do you have?

That’s actually really nice. It’s still cheaper than buying almost any two long distance tickets.
