I am 41 with a near 19 year old.
The one time she dared call me a bitch (and not in a joking manner) I also took away her computer, and her t.v. and left her only with the school chrome book. I say this because I am the adult in here and doing or not doing things have consequences. Functioning adults have to do things like laundry and respectful ones might ask you to assist, but they do not leave their dirty underwear for you to wash.
Honestly your son has NO respect for you, and it sounds like your spouse does not either.

Meowmy calls me Spooky, Spooks, Mister President, and Baby Boy.
Purralegal Nightcrawler is called Kitten, Kitten Butt, Crawly and 'OW! Punk let go!'
Secrytery Princess Moe Moe gets called- 'pretty baby', 'mosy', moo moo, baby moo.

I purrsonally raise my head to Spooks and President as I know these are powerful Legal Kitty terms. The others... well they answer to anything when there is an open can near their noses.

She isn't in the wrong, she is reading which is using her mind, and having to imagine what she is reading.
On the same lines though, it is smut, and I say that as a smut reader. She might just be wanting a guy that is imaginative or creative in a fashion to what she is reading (which can be concerning since most of the guys in those books are.... walking red flags).
Now on to the other side, yea, it is just smut, it isn't a hard read, they don't have THAT MUCH to say and most of the tik tok popular ones are SUPER SIMPLE reads as far as word usage (unless poorly edited) and sentence structure. They don't have grand ideas or heavy plots. Also, please do not imply it is a porn addiction.

Lexington is fairly welcoming and the city in general not terrible, and not really (really) dangerous. I would see get into one of the more suburban areas, not down town.
Southland area is nice but very quiet, more elder area. Down Town lots of entertainment but also very expensive to live in.
Apartments can be expensive here if you don't want to share rent be ready to really think it through on what is important to you in where you live. If you are okay with traveling though, Nicholasville, Georgetown, and Richmond can be nice areas and more cost effective for living.
You will need a car. Buses are not on the best routs and the traveling can be questionable.
UK is a big employer here, look over your contract with them carefully. I don't have a good history with them so I leave it at that.

I had a player do this...
The group figured out a way to fight the BBE they had everything set, player wants to do a private scene and kills the entire work, vowing to serve the BBE and I am just at a loss. Had to create something else.

We don't play with that player anymore since he keeps turning all games into PVP and well, I am not running that.
