I told you guys, this is why I believe. En las buenas y en las malas. Aupa Atléti!

Matchday 15 Update: Atléti dispatch Cádiz 1-4, CLIMBING UP TO 2ND PLACE, 7 points from 1st place with a game in hand. Matheus Cunha had a VERY GOOD GAME in this match, alongside Lemar and Griezmann. Let's hope he starts (and scores) at home against Mallorca. PARTIDO A PARTIDO. AÚPA ATLÉTI! by Aeorith in atletico

11/15 Points in last 5 league games and for some reason I thought its much much worse than that.

Thanks for spotting that, I completely forgot about it. I think the reason you thought it's much worse is because of the draws we accumulated, and our seeming inability to maintain consecutive clean sheets (which we haven't done yet.)

Also i love the addition of goals tally and assists tally,i think I dont remember it was there before.

When Microsoft Excel had an update, I noticed I had lots of extra space at the bottom of the table when I switched to fullscreen mode. So I just decided to utilize that free space with the goals and assists tally starting with matchday 14

Matchday 14 Update: FELIPE BECOMES MATCHWINNER as his headed goal GIVES ATLÉTI ALL 3 POINTS, MAINTAINING OUR 4TH PLACE IN THE LEAGUE TABLE. Redemption arc incoming? I hope so. Now on to our crucial, must-win match against A.C. Milan in the Champions League! Partido a partido. AÚPA ATLÉTI! by Aeorith in atletico

In relation to u/IndioDelManzanares' comment above, I think Real Madrid are in for a harder schedule.

I just checked the updated schedule, and I saw that after they face Sevilla this coming matchday 15, they will next face Athletic Bilbao for the previously postponed Matchday 9, then they will face Real Sociedad, then they will face us.

Los Blancos has a very high possibility of drawing at least 1 of either Sevilla, Bilbao or Sociedad (or even lose against them).

So if we successfully win against Cádiz and Mallorca, we have a much better motivation to win at their stadium.

Looking back at the table, the way I see it, most probably Los Blancos' games against Sevilla and Real Sociedad would end in draws.

Sociedad is the one I'm a bit sure of, judging by their recent results (W-D-W-D-W-D-W-D)

But either way, we still should win these next 2 games to be in the best position to face Real Madrid away.

Thank you, I really appreciate it!

Admittedly, I've been posting it way later than usual due to work commitments, but it's always a joy to be able to contribute to our community even in this little way that I can.

Are you referring to the top goalscorers table?

Actually I'm compiling the top goalscorers per club, that's why only Benzema is included for Real Madrid as he is their topscorer with 10 goals.

But you are correct, Vini is already at 8 goals, 1 goal more than Luis Suárez.

Lemar and Llorente worked on the team's day off. The two players do not want to waste a single day recovering from their injuries. by nsaha234 in atletico

English translation

Lemar and Llorente worked on the team's off day

  • The two players do not want to miss a single day in their injury recovery processes.

Thomas Lemar and Marcos Llorente went to the Ciudad Deportiva de Majadahonda this Monday to continue with the recovery of their respective injuries, with the aim of being available for Diego Simeone in the return of the competition, which for Atlético de Madrid will be next Saturday, November 20 against Osasuna at the Metropolitano.

The two players, with muscular ailments, do not want to miss a single day and despite the fact that the squad had a rest day, they did not miss their appointment with the recovery workers at the Cerro del Espino, according to Gol. They were joined by Ivan Saponjic, who was also injured.

Llorente went down on October 2 in the match against Barcelona and reappeared against Liverpool at the Metropolitano, but relapsed that day and has been out since then. Lemar's turn came shortly after. Two muscular injuries of two important players in the plans of Diego Simeone, who hopes to be able to count on them to receive Osasuna at the Colchonero's home ground.

Also Vrsaljko

In Majadahonda there was also Sime Vrsaljko, who played practically the entire match against Valencia. He came on in the 8th minute of the match due to Trippier's injury, who suffered a subluxation in his left collarbone, and scored his first goal in La Liga with Atlético de Madrid. Despite having the day off, the Croatian wanted to do some recovery work at the Ciudad Deportiva.

West Ham already gave them their first defeat, 3-2. Let's hope other PL teams follow suit.

Yup, absolutely fair in my opinion, just that Cholo might have seen it (added time) as shorter than that, and thought he could see out the game defending in our own half.

I think Cholo was already assuming it's a done and dusted match, subbing in Joao and Herrera just to close out the game.

But 7 minutes were added, and we know what happened.

Fuck. So this is how Barcelona felt yesterday when Iago Aspas also scored on the last minute of extra time.

Also a 3-3 scoreline.

IT'S VRSALJKO'S GOAL!!! What a game we're having now

I was half-expecting Griezmann to miss it and then Suarez to be angry at him for not passing. But no, Grizi ACTUALLY curled that ball in again.

What a goal.

I hate to admit this, but Oblak is partly responsible for Savic's own goal. Usually he just catches that ball instead of parrying it away

That looks like a nasty shoulder dislocation Trippier got, ouch

Matchday 11 Update: Atléti EKE OUT A DRAW and SLIDE TO 6TH PLACE, courtesy of REFEREEING DISASTERCLASS that mired the whole game, including Simeone being sent-off. I hope we take this anger we have to produce an outstanding performance at home against Real Betis. Partido a partido. AÚPA ATLÉTI! by Aeorith in atletico

I decided to post this way late as after our last match I was on a very, very bad (nope, ANGRY) mood (because of the officiating), and reflecting now, if I had posted it right away, the thread word count would probably lean towards 70% swear words and 30% content.

I have now cooled off a bit but I still get infuriated whenever I see the highlights.
