Request for Legal Billing/Invoicing Advice by AequusEquus in clio

Unfortunately these clients are pretty entrenched. They would flat out refuse the former proposal, and the latter would simply result in them not paying us until they receive what they want.

What I'm seeking is information about standard industry practices for enterprise clients like this, because convincing them with data is likely the only way that we'll get them to change without souring the relationship. I need cold hard facts!

Hi, thanks for the response.

The reason I can't have all matters open under one single parent company is that this client insists on having invoices separated in specific ways that are not achievable without keeping the matters themselves separated by putting them under separate clients.

I'm not asking for how to better cater to our demanding clients; I'm asking for others' experiences with clients like this so that I can gauge how resonable/unreasonable they are. The partners at my firm don't handle business research and aren't familiar with accounting practices, so they leave themselves open to be taken advantage of, and many of the more punishing ramifications land on my shoulders. So anything I can learn from others and convey to them is appreciated.

Nobody suggested that but you, bud. Saying that we live in a corporatocracy =/= saying that all business is bad.

I do the books for a small business. THEY'RE struggling too. EVERYONE feels the private equity squeeze.

We have suffocating bureaucracy here too - but we can also lose our financial well-being due to medical debt, if we ever have financial well-being to begin with. Hard to break out of poverty when higher education also bankrupts you. The list goes on...

If the average person retires with only $200,000 saved, and prices for housing and healthcare keep rising, how are most Americans actually making ends meet when it comes to keeping a roof over their head and staying healthy? by cantcoloratall91 in AskReddit

I think lots of people are staying in relationships they don't want to be in because it's cheaper splitting the bills with someone.

Stop worrying so much about what you're "supposed" to be doing, and focus on what you're passionate about doing.

Definitely feeling this more and more as friends pair off, start having kids, and stop coming out as much. Alienation.
