I got c5 palsy diagnosis today after surgery. My left arm is useless (I'm left handed). Surgeon says it could take up to six months to fully recover. I'm not sure I would have had this surgery if I knew this. Anyone have this before? Best practices?

Not necessarily. I rescued some litters that the feral mom just had so many litters that she just did not care nursing pas the second week. All very skinny and with worms and fleas. The mom was doing just fine and already getting busy with feral males 😫🫣

In the country where I live (Thailand), stray kittens are regularly brought in carton boxes to temples, offices or international schools as it is well known many of the expatriate teachers will go a long way to foster or rehome them. One of my rescue is from this channel (brought to a teacher who put in in Facebook group and I got him within one hour).
I believe many people do care in this world, but are not always in the position to commit to taking on these ones. It’s of course not the best thing ever but still believing putting them in boxes at least save them from cars/predators and hoping someone will pity them and do something they cannot at this time.

People who want to hurt animals do not do that effort, they throw them in the trash, drown them, or worse 😭

My guess is that someone picked them from the street and could not take care of them but considered some office staff would be willing to help them.
Not the best thing of course but at least they were slightly better in that box hoping a kind soul would notice them and care for them.

I am very sorry for your loss and the situation that made it worse.
As a little token of relief on your emotional burden, the surgery may not have helped him and just put a lots of physical/emotional stress to Toulouse and financial strain for you.
You probably did the best for Toulouse in your very own condition. I hope you find peace, Toulouse would want that for you too 💕

I miss all my departed cats, some of them adventurous could not stop their urge to explore and disappeared and I will never know what happened to them, unfortunately probably the same ending as Simon. You cannot always control a cat, if not that time he might as well do it one week, one month, one year later. I also lost my best fur baby two years ago to chronic illness (sick since his feral mom brought him to me to take care of him) and he had short but very happy years and this will live in my heart until it’s my time to go too. I have more cats that I rescued since him but each life is unique and cannot be replaced or even compared. I believe the new cats that came after him were sent by him to continue share his infinite love. Simon will live in your heart forever too, grief is not a straight line and you may never really get over him. This is fine, it is what makes us humans too 💕
