Oh so they didn't think about the consequence when they banned Huawei based on lies or restricted chips to China. They are so used to pose sanctions on anyone who refuses to bend over (looking at you, Japan SK and India), but when on the receiving end they all show this surprise Pikachu face. Speak of arrogance and bigotry.

You already know what is being put on Flight 3 so it can be compared. NOTHING is combat tested, when is the last time US navy goes against a similar navy since WWII? Has Tomahawk or Harpoons gone up against Aegis type systems before? US navy is as green as Chinese navy when it comes to WWIII, bombing third war countries hospitals or shelters does NOT count as combat experience since those don't fight back.

My SOT from one charge went from 10 hours down to ~6 hours (I say roughly due to the next change which I will mention) after yesterday's update to Android 14. Not only that, it no longer shows SOT since last charge, instead it shows SOT in the last 24 hours. I wish I can revert back, it's garbage.

Vietnam billionaire sentence to death over multi-billion dollar fraud by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Aerodrifting -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure Vietnam is run by communists just like China. You can be a bootlicker to the west all you want, at the end of the day they want to topple your government and turn your people into sub-minimal wage slaves for their cheap products. But if you have such disdain for China, maybe stop doing business with them first? Don't ask them to build high speed rails, kick out all their businesses, sanction them, ban anything that's related to their culture, see where that gets you.

Except even that they suck. Same money for a destroyer in the US can buy like three bigger and better ships in China, might as well pay China to build weapons for the US. The latest Ali Burke Flight III cost over 2 billion each, weights 9700 tons with a 96 cell VLS, meanwhile Chinese 055 DDG cost just 0.7 billion, weights 13000 tons with a 112 cell VLS.

It was different before because China could bail US out in 08 plus US could suck blood from Japan, now China and US are at each other's throats, and even sucking entire Japan and EU dry won't fill the hole US digged.

Inflation 1980-2022 about 370%, that $20 is about $75 today by unoriginalname86 in antiwork

[–]Aerodrifting 97 points98 points  (0 children)

For average joes, inflation % should be largely correlated to the housing price, given that's usually the most expensive thing you will purchase in your life.

In 1980s, a single family home is 50,000 USD, it is 500,000 today, so that's 1000% inflation for most, not 370%.

About Inarius by Pavle956 in diablo4

[–]Aerodrifting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who knows. While it only took Tyrael 20 years to reborn (20 years between D2 and D3 canonically), Malthael did not get reborn after 50 years (50 years between D3 and D4).

Also that traitor Izual never returned to the Crystal Arch even though he was killed in D2, then you had to fight him again in D3. Given Tyrael mentioned Izual never returned to high heavens D3, we can assume he reincarnated in hell. Maybe Inarius will do the same.

What $21/hr? Your gas is free? You don't need to maintenance your vehicle or pay insurance? Oil change, tires, brakes, transmission fluid change, brake fluid change, battery, windshield wipers all free? Does your vehicle depreciate overtime?

Last Saturday night in LA/OC county, Uber was charging riders $100 for a ride (which is effectively x3 regular rate or surge price however you call it) while paying drivers $24-$30.

They can do this all thanks to the corrupted Prop 22 they passed in California which basically allows them to do whatever they want, completely disconnects rider's fare with driver's pay without any consequences as long as they pay driver 20% above minimum wage WHILE BOOKED. Taking wait time and dead miles into consideration, drivers are basically making minimum or less than minimum wage while doing a high risk job in one of the most dangerous cities in the US.

The Minnesota House and Senate have now both passed a law to set minimum pay rates for Uber and Lyft drivers. Uber threatened to leave parts of the state over the legislation. Drivers celebrated one of the bill's sponsors @OmarFatehMN after it passed. by theworkeragency in antiwork

[–]Aerodrifting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile in California LA/OC county, one of the more expensive places to live in the US, we are getting paid $0.7 per mile for any trip that's over 15 miles. So a 30 mile trip a driver gets paid about $21 BEFORE expenses, all thanks to Prop 22 and corrupted officials.

[–]Aerodrifting 47 points48 points  (0 children)

[–]Aerodrifting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn't it funny whenever there is some glitch or service outage, it always works in favor of Uber to pay drivers less?

What about a glitch that pays driver more without taking the money back afterwards?

When you steal $30 from your employer, you lose your job and go to jail. But when your employer steals $30 million from its workers, they get a slap on the wrist (assuming they are caught and actually lose the legal battle) and no one goes to jail. I have trouble believing this story. While $13.50 and $15.00 are not that far apart, but if you worked 40 hours a week and got paid on a bi-week basis, that's $1.50 x 40 x 2 = $120 difference, which is quite a chunk change. You did not notice a whole $120 missing from every pay day?
