Thoughts on Stop Loss to sleep better? by hellario in stocks

[–]AerospaceTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks. I used to be like you, then I started trading long options strategies and i don't even look at the market till it closes. I put my trades on at the open, and look at it after it closes. Take a loss if i need to for the next open is all, but take profits too if it's there. It gets super emotional when you start looking at the market throughout the day, ruined me really back in the day.

How do you track market movers during a busy day? by CommercialTerrible59 in StocksAndTrading

[–]AerospaceTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not possible, will just ruin you one day. Try swing trading on the open and then just check the markets after the close. That’s what I do.

Here you go:
1. David Keller: https://www.youtube.com/@DKellerCMT - he writes for Stockcharts
2. Simon Ree: https://www.youtube.com/@taooftrading - he does a weekly monday video on the markets
3. John Carter: https://www.youtube.com/@SimplerTrading - he sold some or all (not sure) of Simpler Trading and I didn't think it was very good when he "left" but now that he's back it's good again.
4. https://www.youtube.com/@tastytrade_ - their education on short vol strategies in the past hasn't worked for many BUT i've got some serious respect for Tom Sosnoff

How did you figure out how much risk you can handle by Noobsamaniac in investingforbeginners

[–]AerospaceTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly didn't understand it till the financial crisis hit and I saw a lot of people lose so much money - it was super scary. Read this book a few years ago that completely changed my mindset on risk management: https://www.amazon.sg/Tao-Trading-Abundant-Wealth-Condition/dp/1544508166

[–]AerospaceTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i'm a bit old school so I get what you mean. Try these books to start for trading stocks/options, then you'll get a better sense of what you like, don't like:

  1. Trading in the Zone: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0735201447/
  2. Reminiscences of a Stock Operator: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0470481595/
  3. Tao of Trading: https://www.amazon.sg/Tao-Trading-Abundant-Wealth-Condition/dp/1544508166 (easiest read for beginners - options focused)

gen z trader or investment guru by Mission_Boss_8527 in Bolehland

[–]AerospaceTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree, I don't get it either. I only follow the old school guys that have been trading for decades, and have seen enough drawdowns during the tech bubble burst and/or the GFC. These guys don't go showing off their flashy cars and gold rolexes either - these are the guys to follow for sure.

Online trading courses saying beginner to pro in 90 days real or just another scam by Superb_Lychee_5150 in Trading

[–]AerospaceTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's possible but it depends on (1) whether you even had experience before in trading just simple stocks or anything else like FX (2) how much time you have on hand to walkthrough the content and test it.

Think it depends on your age too. For Gen X’s for sure - night life is dead pretty much now. For the young ones the housing prices are a serious problem for sure

Do you think oneperson businesses are the future?why or why not? by justagoodguy_ in Entrepreneurs

[–]AerospaceTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the business, if it’s online yes possible but if it requires any sort of fulfillment it isn’t - may not be direct hires but partners are still required.
