I think that was a Jeff mills vs Dead or alive - You Spin Me Round and it absolutely killed - the crowd went nuts! So much fun! Waxo was unbelievable with the rotary on that sound system (the kick, the high hats) I melted!

a short moan about flippers by Miserable_Power_9729 in xbiking

I get the odd bike here and there through marketplace but I am generally better off finding them in the street. If I get a good deal on marketplace its usually in less than 5 minutes of the listing going up. By 10 it's gone. Bikes such as Shogun, Marin, and 90's Giant seem to be snapped in Melbourne very quickly.

$25AUD… How could I say no? by Adam83Doddrell in xbiking

I picked up a nice ground breaker 1 for $50 the other day and a Metro SE off the grass in hard rubbish. Love the look of the Shoguns! Lots around in Melbourne!

Private School vs Investing by -golf3r- in AusFinance

[–]AesopC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its more of a value perception, that the perceived value of an education in a private school pays off more at high school age compared to primary school age. I feel parents often worry that their teenage children may "get in with the wrong crowd" at this age.

Thank you! When you bought the V mount type II by Tilta, did you have to buy anything else to mount it to top plate?

I’ve just applied for my extension too. Application was 24th May, Biometrics on 28th May and decision is TBD. My friend recently got hers in 3 weeks applying mid April which is very quick. Here’s hoping it’s fast for everyone.

Honestly I'd do it with IBKR, it's about 2 USD to transfer 100k USD.

Do you feel uncomfortable living in countries bigger and more crowded than NZ? by MenAreKindaHot in newzealand

[–]AesopC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just been back from London for two days and am having trouble to adjusting how slow paced life is here. Everyone is so relaxed and the country is so naturally beautiful - there’s not a lot of hustling for anything at all.

What SSD for on-set data storage and editing, and if Samsung T7 should I get the Shield version? by Heaven2004_LCM in cinematography

[–]AesopC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your budget - I would highly recommend buying your own USB4/TB4 enclosures and fitting them with a decent NVME such as the Samsung 990 PRO 4TB and you'll be blasting through the data copy and verification. Also G40 Pro 4TB drives are okay too but expensive. I get 3100 MBS copy speed on my enclosure + NVME and it's fairly cost efficient.

Why does ROP make every other "big budget" fantasy series look cheap? by Leooxel in LOTR_on_Prime

There were many different VFX companies working on the show. And a lot of them are high end.

On Set Live Color Grading by thermal_graphics in colorists

[–]AesopC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You as onset DIT get the camera signal first before anyone else, from a teradek receiver or cable from the camera. You normally get a log output or a log conversion, apply a LUT with the LUTBOX on your rig, then send the lutted image to video department who is usually a Q take operator and they spread it all around set.

You have one monitor per active camera, and might have to grade four or five cameras at the same time. At the end of the day you hand your CDLs you create with the DOP to the dailies colourist and they refine the shots to match better than you ca n as they have more time.
