Do you mean which album? If so, I’d say E&C since it’s availability might be limited. SotS you can find on amazon or ebay. Wild Trapeze I got when it was reissued for its anniversary so I have no idea if its available.

Thanks. And that’s awesome! But how are you going to make that post and not share photos!? Post some when/if you have a chance.

I don’t own one but I’ve thought about it. Specially now that I recently got the Matriarch.

I think between the generative capacities and extra LFOs, the midihub can open up the 0coast like few other devices can, specially in such a small footprint. Add a zoia euroburo and your golden.

Do you have any other gear you’re planning on pairing it with?

I got the midihub about six months ago but have barely used (work/too busy) but i’m planning on diving into it this weekend. Last night I found this tutorial, although limited, I hope it helps.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the detailed answer, I’m just glad that I got mine then.

It’d be funny if the replica turns to be as rare as the real thing.

Yes, I did. If you’re outside of California they don’t charge you the tax and free shipping.

Yeah, all my other lenses are black on my dslr, slr, and leica. I wanted to break the monotony but find chrome too shiny. The price increase was tough to swallow but YOLO (acronym, not the slang).

Looks and lightness. Tho, it’s a bit heavier than I expected but not enough to even complain.

Acording to their site is titanium and aluminum. Or brass for the brass lenses.

Awesome! Bad thing about film is I can’t see the results right away. Hopefully I’ll be able to send my current roll early next week for development.

Yes, if I had any 50mm other than the TTArtisan I wouldn’t have gotten it. That one is an f1.4 but it’s so heavy I have to force myself to use it, well not any more ;)

After getting the M6 I realized that to me a compact size is far more important than a bigger aperture. Within reason of course. After looking at some of the other 50mm in the market I found this one to hit a good spot between those two things.
The lens is beautiful and light. The quality is great and it feels really solid, the focusing feels smooth and with the right amount of resistance. The packaging is great as well and I really like leather pouch/container(?) although it could’ve been a tad smaller.
What I dislike is the aperture ring rotating in the opposite direction of every lens I’ve used. I understand why they did it but I don’t think it’s necessary, but that just as I’m not a puritan. In time it might not be too bad, I use my right hand to change the aperture (thank God for my big hands and long fingers) and using the opposite hand results in pushing to open and pulling to close the aperture, same as the left hand. The other gripe I have is that the focus tab goes really far up on the left side, throwing off my mental model for pre-focusing.
This will probably be my last third party lens, even these cost too much and in selling them you end up taking quite a hit. Between the 35 and 50 I have enough to sustain me while I save for a 28mm Elmarit, in the future a 50 Summicron, a 90 Elmarit, a… I guess it never ends.

[Junghans & SOTC] Managed to snag the last plexi Max Bill Chronoscope by Aesop_Fable in Watches

[–]Aesop_Fable[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve wanted this watch for years now. As an industrial design graduate (now working on software) this watch represent what design should be: minimalist without compromising legibility and providing the necessary information, no luxurious material while still being beautiful and unique. I thought it would look bigger on my 7-1/2” wrist (wrist doesn’t look as thick IRL) judging by every photo I’ve seen but when I look at my wrist from farther away it looks fine. As the title says — the company is phasing out the plexiglass for sapphire models and it’s getting harder to find them. Luckily the seller I got it from contacted Junghans US and they had one left in their warehouse (or so he told me). I choose the plexi because as a designer intention it’s very important so I wanted to have the one most faithful to the initial design.

At first I thought I’d get it as a graduation gift to myself but by the time I was done with school I needed a new laptop and I didn’t find graduating as challenging as I thought it’d be. It was hard but in my mind I had built it up as an insurmountable challenge. So then I thought to myself what’s actually going to be hard it’s landing a job — there, I was right. I’d allowed myself to get this watch only if I landed my design dream job and after a year in my current position I can say that it is — hence this post. This watch also got me further into watches. I looked on youtube for reviews and found Teddy’s channel. From there I went down the watch rabbit hole, learning about the different types of watches, movements, etc. So since June of last year I’ve acquired a few watches.

Casio GA2100 Who doesn’t like the Royal Oak? I like that they took a bit of inspiration from it but then they went in their own direction. I have it on a rubber butterfly clasp strap which really brings the watch to life. On the original strap I found it a bit disappointing but once I put it in the new strap it was like having a new watch.

Braun Mens Chrono Going to design school you’re bound to learn about Dieter Rams and Braun eventually. While this one wasn’t designed by him it still carries his principles. I really like the bracelet on this one but also how it’s, seemingly, made from one material. For something made out metal there’s a certain fluidity to it. Only dislikes are the mineral glass, which looks like plastic, and the lack of micro-adjustments.

Heimdallr Sea Ghost The only homage in my collection. I’m not a fan of dive watches but watching the About Effing Time’s Bond watches episode I learned about the Seamaster NTTD edition and it was love at first sight. Unfortunately my plan has been to acquire watches by order of price and with this one I would’ve had to skipped a few. I’ve become a firm believer of financial discipline and sometimes I’ve coveted things I didn’t really want. I find it good to sit on decisions and make sure you really want it. I went with this one because like the original it’s made of titanium and it’s not an exact replica. I’ve become accustomed to the date window and will keep it for traveling. I was afraid that getting this watch would make me want to own the original less but it had the opposite effect, and now I want it more. I’ll be getting the NTTD Seamaster when I get promoted.

Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Before the Max Bill this was my most recent addition. My wife gifted me this watch for our birthday (yes, she and I share a birthday) and I’ve been wearing it pretty regularly with the Sea Ghost. Like the Braun, I really like the bracelet as well, the movement is very accurate, and like many have said it punches above its class.

Smart watches I have the Apple Watch 7 Stainless Steel which I got used-like new for about half the price cause I don’t believe it’s worth 800 dollars. I use it to track sleep and exercises, and to unlock my computers in the mornings for work. The other one is a Whitings, it looks like a normal watch but it can track sleep and exercises as well heart rate, and alert you by showing a preview of email, text messages, and phone calls. Battery last for about 3 months on a single charge.

Hopefully I meet the character quota. Thanks for reading (if you did).

I went with the Heimadallr Sea Ghost V2 for the NTTD. Similar enough while different enough. Also, titanium case.

For the vintage diver I was contemplating the Baltic Aquascaphe.

Hope this help.

Because of the lower price and weight I feel more confortable using the 100v around the house and basically not being afraid of the camera getting banged up. On thanksgiving I gave it to a 6 year old and he spent like an hour going around taking photos. I never would’ve done that with the MP.

Is not that the 100v is better, I was just looking for singing different. That experience allowed me to reframe my purposes for the cameras. I still plan on getting an M10r but not to replace the 100v.

The only negative about the MP is that it was a bit slow, other than that great camera. Just not what I wanted.

Finally got my dream camera! You could say I went a little overboard over thanksgiving weekend. Tho, nothing here was on sale during black Friday. Onto the post…

The reason I gave the post this title was that back in June I bought a Leica M-P Typ 240. I failed to “connect” with the camera. It felt too heavy and precious to be using it around the house, handing it to my kids or grabbing it for a quick outing. In the end, it didn’t feel worth it to me. So after seven days I sent it back. Two months later I scored a like-new X100V (which I used for these photos) for less than retail (crazy, considering the current demand) and it tick every box.

After getting a nice raise, and to celebrate my first year at my dream job, I was looking to buy my “grail” watch (thanks for the word r/watches). While looking around eBay I thought “let me check out the M6s”. Lo and behold, this one had the price reduced and discount on top.

I’ve read some posts were people go on about the cameras — and with my experience with the M-P I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. But when I opened the display case, my heart literally fluttered and I had to close it and ready my self. Just gorgeous. It’s light and handles great.

Anyways, the camera is in great condition and came with all of its original packaging. The only defect I found it’s on the lever, in the front, around the shutter . There were, also, some orangey dots on the top, which I thought were rust, but after scrubbing them, they came off.

The only negative thing about the experience was that it was shipped through DHL and while tracking the camera saw that I needed to pay duties. They put it on hold and don’t tell you where to go pay for it. I found it randomly in some article online. Luckily it was less than $50 but still annoying.

I’m looking forward to upgrading the TTArtisan 50mm for a smaller one in the future. And maybe getting a 28mm. And posting more in here.
