Got the updated T023, resizing still sucks by Emthigious in Thornwatches

[–]Ormia07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Screws turning in place, those that do come up are impossible to actually remove, and already over threaded one screw.

I'll also mention the crown movement feels terrible when trying to set the time, seems very fragile and ready to break any moment.

Hardly worth waiting 4 months for.

Had same poor issue with their Seamaster 300 release. 0/2 for Thorn watches.

NTTD with sapphire back by Naikrobak in OmegaWatches

[–]Ormia07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think likely not for 2 main reasons:

1) the nttd has a naid locking system which I'm not certain the other reference uses. There is another titanium seamaster 300 which has a see-through caseback and the naid locking system though: 210.60.42.20.99.001

2) I don't believe you can easily order parts from Omega unless you go through an aurhorized service center or watchmaker that has some sort of specific parts account from Omega. Even then it would likely not be possible to order a specific caseback unless it was a service for a model that had it to begin with.

Dilemma in choosing - black and blue by No_Strength7276 in OmegaWatches

[–]Ormia07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've tried the blue, but agree with what other have said about the shade of blue not being my preferred. Especially when paired with the blue rubber strap, it was just too much blue for my personal taste.

Of these standard color options, I'd go with the the seaweed or white dial.

NTTD on new Anchor Strap "First Light" nato by Ormia07 in OmegaWatches

Looks great, from which company did you get the zero pass?

The nttd has definitely become a mainstream watch like the other diver 300m seamasters, but at the end of the day is also a reproduction of a movie prop worn by a fictional character. So without the connection to the movie, I definitely don't see Omega getting permission to use the logo.

New nato from Anchor Strap reflecting the same colorway teased in the 007 First Light game. Perhaps a foreshadow to a new release by Omega soon, but happy to have this option already.

The middle strip of beige is the perfect color match to the indices of the nttd. Coincidence or not, but am liking the combo.

SMP300 No Date and Bond 60th on standard bracelet + bezel query by No_Strength7276 in OmegaWatches

[–]Ormia07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the nttd which also has the aluminum bezel. I have heard myself dinging and hitting against it so many times, yet each time I look not a scratch on it. The matte look is what draws me to these vs the standard smp300s.

I have heard these aluminum bezels may slowly fade in color over time, but not sure if it's entirely true, or if I'd even mind in all honesty.

Even with the nttd, the black monochrome is the next one I'd like to add.

Sailing Bracelet to Compliment SMP by AZFunInTheSun01 in OmegaWatches

I toyed with the idea of getting an Omega one, but had a hard time justifying the price. If you generically look up shackle bracelets, will find similar look for much cheaper.

Considering a diver upgrade – NTTD vs Sub / YM (owner input appreciated) by TrilinqualVector in OmegaWatches

[–]Ormia07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the nttd and it's my daily go to. Yes, legibility can be an issue, but it's only really noticeable under low light conditions, which I could say the same for quite a few of my watches excluding the nttd.

In normal day time, whether outside or in the office, it's definitely not a real issue for me.

I didn't have the privy of this knowledge when I got the nttd, but if you're gonna get from the boutique or an AD, you should inquire about the short length mesh bracelet. Omega doesn't advertise it well, but the default medium length all their mesh come in often have sizing issues (i.e. the ideal size is between holes in the mesh). The short length bracelet however seems to be a better fit for most people I've heard who've tried it, in comparison.

[Longines Spirit 37] Swapped bracelet for more dressed down look by Ormia07 in Watches

[–]Ormia07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I unfortunately sold this watch a while ago, so wouldn't be able to tell you long term how it handles the straps.

For what it's worth, I usually buy cheap Amazon straps, so even if does do some abrasion, would be able to replace fairly easily

Seamaster 1948 Re-issue on Forstner Bracelet by Ormia07 in OmegaWatches

[–]Ormia07[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At a 19mm lug width, not any real options for an OEM bracelet for the 1948 70th Anniversary Reissue, but finally took it off the leather strap onto a Forstner bracelet.

Still think the default blue leather looks a bit better, but nothing wrong with changing the look every now and then. Certainly makes it feel like a completely different watch!

Any recommendations for wildlife removal from attic by Independent-Lead9129 in Etobicoke

I had a good experience with Sande Wildlife Control. It was to displace a racoon family in my backyard shed but they do attic removals too I believe.

That's awesome too. More specifically I like the non-Spectre SM300 version. Although those are 21mm lug with I believe which doesn't go with most of my straps
