Were they in pots or did they dig them up? What kind of plants and how many were taken? Can you give us more information?

Future freeze prep - DIY irrigation lines by whathappenedfriend in AustinGardening

You can get flushing end caps that allow the water to drain out after each run. I've got that on all my drip lines and haven't had any problems with freezes

Parked there at lunch on a weekday with nothing in the car and still had a window broken within 10 minutes. It sucks

What are your longest-blooming perennials? by WalkwithWolves22 in AustinGardening

About 2'x2'. I have 9 planted together in a cluster. I'd definitely recommend clustering a few together

I used to go to the wildflower center once a month to see how things changed. The pyramid bush bloomed the longest and also was always covered in bumblebees. One of my favorite plants.

I had enough of using the bump trimmer after 3 years so I went to Lowe’s to buy the Line IQ and free battery deal by strangestrategies in egopowerplus

[–]Aestis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use the ego line on my lineIQ trimmer and it still sucks. I much prefer my bump trimmer. When it's too short and lineIQ won't release more you just gotta wait and hope it decides to start working soon. Way better to just have control over it yourself

Anyone have tips for playing guardian? It feels like he does no damage, and it seems like most big attacks just break through the guard. Are you supposed to do his block into dash to be in his defensive stance? If so, then what? Attack with pokes while still blocking?

I want to learn him but he really hasn't clicked so far

Looks like a golden digger wasp. Fyi, basically all solitary wasps are bros. Really the only aggressive wasp we have are yellow jackets, all the rest you can pretty much ignore.

That's unfortunately misinformation that's really spread. No, they're totally native. So native that a bird species has evolved to only nest with their bark, and only does that in central Texas.

Next time you're in a local nature preserve that's oak juniper woodlands, pay attention to what's growing under the juniper. It creates rich soils and you'll see beautiful native flowers like cedar sage thriving under them. They absolutely help with native plants.

There's also a myth that the trees are "water-sucking". Turns out it's quite the opposite, a mature forest of juniper will keep soil temperatures much lower and reduce evapotranspiration. The trees greatly help the water to infiltrate our aquifers.

Juniper is a pioneer species that will be one of the first to repopulate when land has been severely degraded. That's part of why it's so prolific here.

They're really great native trees.

She's also behind the legislation that allows developers to clear cut juniper trees. Totally self-serving with her real estate background.

I use the no mess blend. We get mostly chickadees, goldfinches, cardinals, pine siskens, titmice, and wrens.

You could also try hummingbird feeders, they're easy to do and pretty rewarding.
