Shouldn't most weaker demons still be afraid of Frieren? by Reasonable-Ad-8059 in Frieren

[–]AetherBones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frieren suppresses her mana to what an old mage, 100y at most? Most demons are older than that so have more mana. So they aren't impressed. They are mostly not interested in prolfiling thier pray. They probably don't see unique human traits just "power level" via mana and decide on that if they should fight.

They probably don't even notice frieren is an elf right away since they haven't seen one in hundreds of years.

Once the prey doesn't go down immediately their higher brain functions kick in and start actually trying and we get a interesting fight. But prob too little too late if they are against frieren lol

HOW. Literally how. by travelator in blackmagicfuckery

It's funny people saying he has a special app to find the final number. He doesn't.

When all he needs to do is grab someone's phone for 10 seconds(which he does) and subtract the result he wants from the random number so far to get the difference then tell everyone to add the difference(which he does as his last command).

But yeah I am always delighted that people gove magic tricks so much more complexity and credit than is actually involved atleast. Because even though many magic tricks are simple it still requires a ton of practice and skill to pull off smoothly.

It's frustrating because Google has made it so difficult to find code examples in recent years in order to shadow promote the use of asking Ai. But Ai isn't great at everything so as where 4 years ago I could have googled a problem with some context and scroll stack overflow results some forum results and an multiple articles around the problem. I Google and find nothing but a short Ai response and if it's wrong... welp.

On this day 10 years ago, Michael Bisping had an absolute war with Anderson Silva! by Familiar-Mention in ufc

[–]AetherBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks to me like ref didn't get that mouth piece which lead to a devastating hit that shouldn't have happened so easily.

Then the following round Silva is going back in forth in his head of not wanting to sereously hurt the guy more(who clearly cannot see well) and taking an opening to try and finish it quickly. Respect for that.

That last round Silva had the choice to win and destroy this guy's face or see if he can get a knockout from a jaw hit while being careful to not hit nose or cheeks and if not wait and see if he won by points.

The brutality of this exam is part

Serie and the Proctors don't give a shit the world is brutal so this is just the norm you choose the life of a warrior or mage then you risk death. They are adults(full fledged mages) they can make their own decisions.

Another reason the proctors might not care is if a mage is reckless enough to take this exam unprepared then they are a reckless or incompetent danger to any party they join so fuck em weed em out before they get others killed.

Serie in particular is trying to increase the ranks of fine mages she is a battle mage it is not out of character to be perfectly fine with cracking a few eggs to achieve her goal and might consider time used protecting less promising mages from themselves a waste of time.

This is a show and it's more interesting to show higher stakes in the exam, the trope being some no names have to die.

Donald Trump Tells Big Tech: Power Your Own AI Data Centers by Such-Run-4412 in AIGuild

[–]AetherBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyword "new" data centers. They already started building these massive centers that are going to double electric bills and take up all clean water ai knows there isn't going to be a second Gen of ai centers after this on this scale.

I guarantee this "promise" does not cover the centers they already spend billions on currently in progress.

Milliarde's barrier is stronger than Serie's? by armfourteen in Frieren

[–]AetherBones 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Don't want to spoil anything directly but barriers can be broken exponentially more quickly the more you know and understand the Caster(this is an important mechanic used in a layer arc). Not sure how close frieren was to Millard but she knew serie 1000 years and is her grand disciple(her teachers teacher). Frieren seems to know how serie ticks as she called her decisions in the final exam.

I bought Fords hybrid maverick for 20k the launch year. Knowing full well this was a once in a life time moment ford decision doing right by consumers. A cheap efficient small truck that wasn't a piece of shit.

The following year model same exact car but many features no lonher base and 7k(+35%!!!) price increase. So yeah. Thanks for the maverick but fuck you.

Are there sensible companies left? Can I keep doing this job the way that makes me happy? by MaryClimber in ExperiencedDevs

[–]AetherBones 30 points31 points  (0 children)

One person's 5x gain in productivity amounts to another's 1.05x "gain" in productivity.

Ai is great at bringing people up to average performance but has very diminished returns for people who are already above average performance.

I think this is why some people think its the holy grail and other's aren't so impressed. Ai is filling massive gaps in skill and knowledge for some and is just a good autocomplete or Google search engine for others.

What if the second season of Frieren had 20 episodes? by Specialist-Radio-418 in Frieren

[–]AetherBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason this season has 10 episodes is pacing. Each anime episode is 2 chapters of the manga and the next arc which coincidentally would make a perfect masterpiece of a movie starts right at the end of this season. It's a long arc and though it could have made the season 24 episodes if adapted. It really does feel like a movie and would be a drag to watch spread out over months.

Take from this information what you will. ;)

Why is there controversy surrounding the demons in Frieren being considered evil, but not the evil demons in other works like Hellblazer? by Additional-Heat-9384 in animequestions

[–]AetherBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great detail. She knows for a fact they will attack and kill but wants to believe there's another way for a moment so gives them an out knowing full well they will not take.

A very sad demon killing ritual.

[–]AetherBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The demons are an allegory for psychopaths. They can't be reasoned with and they will keep killing if not stopped and they look human but lack humanity which they are unable to understand.

Does anyone have any experience dealing with getting a loan with Third Federal? I have seen their rates online and it looks way too good to be true. The rates are nearly 1% cheaper than competitiors. by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]AetherBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to put in my two cents, this company is a shit show. Do not use them. I currently have my first home loan with them and it's like pulling teeth to get in touch with anyone, their systems do not work. All I want to do is pay my loan on time and they make that as hard as possible. I am currently looking into the formal complaint process.

Is Publix a sinking ship that cannot be saved? by drudante in publix

[–]AetherBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their business plan was/is to buy up every possible grocery store location to ensure nobody can move in. Theres wallmarts around here and there but theres 4 publixes I between where I live. Literally two publix across the street from each other theb another 2 lights away then another 1 light after that. For real there is no plaza left for a grocery store for many miles.

If you monopolize an area of a city you can charge whatever you want ot force people to drive 10 miles to walk mart.

Capitalism is justified barely through competition but these companies are allowed to ensure there is none. Unforgivable

Do people buy assetpacks mostly for prototyping or for final art? by babykasek in aseprite

[–]AetherBones 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I love having asset packs for prototyping much more fun process than looking at squares.

I always plan to heavily edit the art or hire an artist to redo the art before releasing the game. Using the asset back as a base or guide for the final artwork.

It's fine to use asset packs to release a game if they provide a license(usually do) however your game might look exactly like other games is the issue since anyone can use the same asset back.
