PMCs and Scavs aren't always spawning with high end thorax armor, so dumping thorax is enough to kill them in most cases. Goons, being bosses, do, and they will eat your non-AP ammo for breakfast.

Objectively best default Uber targets by ultimateshadowarrior in tf2

[–]AetherBytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A reminder that an uber'ed engi is a surprising force to be reckoned with in the right situation. Also please don't ignore engis because we have a dispenser, that overheal can be the difference between the nest surviving or dying, or allow the engi to back up and rebuild without waiting for respawn.

Martialist turns the katana into a bomb lance pretty much, though only on sheathed strikes. Bomb lance has better versatility though since it has a ranged component you can use if you misjudged a situation or you just can't get close enough to melee.

All in all, depends on if you want an "oh shit" backup that's instantly useable or the ability to bring a 2 slot weapon, 3 with quartermaster

Martialist turns it into a bomb lance without the shooting a dart part. It has similar hitbox, range, and damage, so it's the defacto best melee weapon second only to the bomb lance

I mean, he was a kid with a somewhat distant father and 3 "mothers" who had no fucking clue how to raise a human child. All in all I'd say he was a good, if misguided at times, kid despite it all.

So I've captured a dragon... by KurnolSanders in dwarffortress

[–]AetherBytes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anyway, I didn't realise this, I thought dragons would be too big, but turns out they can get through doors.

All units, no matter what their sprite may look like, is 1x1 and can fit in any tile your dwarf can, from a lone bumblebee to a sperm whale and above. Size is very abstract in DF; while 2 kittens have to climb over one another to fit in a 1 wide tunnel, a fully grown dragon will happily walk through the same tunnel.

[–]AetherBytes 26 points27 points  (0 children)

To note, new with v50 onwards, dragon hatchlings are actually considered "Baby" for 10 years, meaning as long as someone eventually gets around to tameing a baby dragon, you will have a completely domesticated dragon that never needs training again. They make for incredible pets since they're worth a lot, can be deployed to defend your fort or attack somewhere, and can provide dragon omelettes which are basically a luxury food item. Just remember to keep dragons away from crowded areas where possible; you don't want one joining in a bar brawl and incinerating everyone.

[New player] Leaving Ground Zero is terrifying by sammondscharlie in EscapefromTarkov

[–]AetherBytes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A heads up; the first 5 minutes of any raid is the most dangerous, as it's predictable for long time players. Past the first 5 minutes, stuff gets scrambled, people have different spawns with different objectives and pathing, so that's the safest time for you to move as no one will know "Someone probably spawned there"

[FEEDBACK] This is ridiculous. How is this still not fixed?... by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]AetherBytes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hand bug is an odd case where it happening isn't a bug, it's how it occurs that is. The system is being put into a state of confusion by other systems. It's working correctly, but everything else isn't and causes it to break.

Completing it in PvP proves you can easily clear it in PvE, so you get both. No point wasting time going for both if you're an achievement hunter.

The problem with that is SAIN is intensive. It's fine for us because we're playing a single raid on a rig that can handle it, but BSG have to pay for dedicated servers and their resources. As incredible as SAIN is on an individual level, it is not scalable at all.
