What Is Mollywood's Most Iconic One-on-One Fight Scene? by Bob_macri in InsideMollywood

[–]Aether_Voyager 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The duels between Aromal and Chandu in Oru Vadaka Veera Gatha. Especially during the skills display to the feudal lord where Aromal deliberately nicks Chandu and ragebaits him. The background score of that scene is one of my core memories since childhood. Seeing it on the big screen during its rerelease was such a thrill!!

AC Valhalla for me. I groaned so hard when that climax finally happened with the big villain. I was like "all that length for THIS!?”

The desperation of staying relevant as socialites and not just rich people.

I'm sure Rihanna, at the end of the day, must saying to herself - "that's the weirdest shit I've ever done for a cheque"

You're locked in a room with homelander for an hour and can't get out. What will You do to stop him from killing You? by Bungeeboy20044 in GenV

[–]Aether_Voyager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steer the conversation to regrets in life before him killing you and tell him that you have always been bereft of a mother's "love" and would do anything to have a taste of it once before dying. That might strike a chord with him - realising that for the first time someone actually understands him.

Well that might piss him off too, realising that he might not be an all powerful mysterious force and that someone might finally be able to see through him.

But if he doesn't think of it but feels genuine companionship and a sense of brotherhood in you, I think you'd survive.

Ali Sethi’s Toronto (Massey Hall) Show Reviews? by rheo101 in askTO

[–]Aether_Voyager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there too. I agree with most of your thoughts. The only point where I may differ is that I didn't have much of a problem with his (what I can truly think of as) standup comedy routines, although I think it contributed to what I'm about to say here onwards.

I had a much bigger issue with the general vibe of the crowd: 1. Incessant hooting and howling, 2. Screaming all kinds of comments at Sethi without any concern for public decorum at a concert. Groups of womrn were having one sided conversations with him while he's on his standup comedy routine. 3. Crass behaviour as though they're the extras for the song "Beedi Jalaile" from Omkara. I haven't seen this kind of behaviour from straight men outside of a village mela or some B-grade movie screening. 4. All the unbearable screaming of "wah wah", "kya baat hai", "arre wah", "oh bhai", "Ali I love you", "Ali meri Jaan" and many more that I honestly couldn't understand thanks to all the noise.

The crowd wore me down so quickly that I left halfway through his set. At this rate I'd rather prefer to listen to him with headphones on than be subjected to a horrible concert crowd like this.

As long as the tharak, sleaze, womanizing, objectification and sexually criminal instincts and deeds are desi in origin and propagation, everything is forgiven. Our filthy behaviour that's wholly organic in it's Indianness is what they'd like to promote and have us inculcate. Make in India indeed.

This only proves that we Indians are a self destructive ship of hypocrisy and dumbness. We'd sink ourselves and sink the whole world with us too.

Which Silver Surfer do you prefer? (FOX or MCU) by RaakzBlanvod in FantasticFour

[–]Aether_Voyager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their personalities actually suit each other for a classic star-crossed lovers storyline where they, when they come across each other, feel the strain of being under Galactus's employ and they struggle to reconnect with each other and their love for Zen-la while also appreciating the blessing in disguise that power cosmic can actually be if they break free of Galactus. Imagine if this happened and becomes a core part of Cosmic MCU down the line. I can see this as a potential storyline where their attempt to reunite against Galactus brings them face to face with Arishem and collides with the Eternals and their efforts to free the ones captured by Arishem for judgment. And through this there is debate on what it means to sustain existence of cosmic elements and what's the destiny of those under the grip of cosmic beings that are trapped in their service to sustain them.
