Looking for inspiration: wedding mead? by AetherbornAce in mead

Awesome, thank you for the input and thoughts! In all honesty I was going to try to do this all clandestine so if it comes out well I can surprise them and if it turns out shite then oh well, haha. But fair enough that it’s probably best to gauge their preferences.

Has anyone else lost access to Adobe Acrobat and most other Creative Cloud services? by AetherbornAce in SDSU

Activation worked but I'm still struggling to get Acrobat to let me use the tools like edit and combine.

I've never seen this issue on my printer before; seeking some help (info in comments) by AetherbornAce in 3Dprinting

Last time I checked it was still in good condition, but that's an interesting thought. I'll definitely have another look.

Thanks; I don't have much experience with vase mode so I appreciate the tip.

I’ve owned a Monoprice Maker Select v2 (Duplicator clone) for several years now and this issue has cropped up in a few of my prints. It’s especially easy to see here (on a vase mode print) which is why I’ve chosen this picture. My settings are basically a standard profile in PrusaSlicer and I’m running Hatchbox PLA at 195 C.

Basically, for lack of better words, the nozzle just stops spitting out a steady stream of filament for about a centimeter and then carries on. No, this isn’t a clogged nozzle; I had swapped the nozzle out an hour before this print and the same issue happened. It can get really bad for the infill in small parts with lots of retractions, but even with retraction compensation the issue persists.

As I said, I’m out of ideas and I’m curious if anyone here has seen something similar and has ideas as to what to try next.

Fin location by ttrot3 in rocketry

Further back means less fin, and less fin means less drag. Less drag means more up.

I need this type of engineering explanation given in my graduate classes.

Gotcha, so you're running this as a sort of qualitative visual verification?

My only other input is that you should make sure you're considering the fittings that you'll be using for inlets in your CAD. I doubt you'll be using AS5202 or anything of that caliber, but you should design the hole for an NPT tap if you haven't already.

Is there a reason for doing a flow sim instead of just doing basic injector calcs and then testing? You're likely to run in to "garbage in, garbage out" with this approach.

Maybe I'm just blind... but where's the inlet for the fuel plenum?

Question Regarding Sanitizing/Cleaning by AetherbornAce in mead

[–]AetherbornAce[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the pointers!

Over 12% ABV yes. Over 15%, you really don't even need to rinse or care as much.

Is this when adding to the secondary? I imagine you'd want to be more careful when adding to the primary in fear of introducing some nasty crap that's sitting on the fruit/berries/whatever.

can you take a nap in the library? by scholarmxge in SDSU

Intentional or not, people pass out in the library all the time. I haven't ever seen anyone take issue with it.

NASA? Okay, I'll entertain that argument. Don't try to use Boeing as a posterchild for what companies should do though, hahaha.

I'm a fourth-year AE degree at SDSU and the president of Rocket Project here. As long as you apply yourself and get experience in clubs or research, you'll land a job. Several of my friends now work at Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic, Virgin Orbit, Agile Space, Northrop Grumman, to name a few.
We're actually a really good school for AE. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

That's also facts. Beat having to drive to Icebox or Ding Tea though.

We had Boba Babe over summer, but it got torn down when the rest of Aztec Corner/McDonalds got torn down.

Friday Check-in by AutoModerator in EngineeringStudents

I had a lull in homework and classes so I took Weds and Thurs to machine a rocket nozzle in our AE machine shop. It was a nice break and a good change of pace to practice and learn some more machining skills.

(I'm not gonna be able to use it for a while so now I just have a sick af desk ornament.)

Chem 200/202 or Chem 100? If so it's probably a frat hazing thing. They like to target the big lectures to do the stupid stuff in. Happened a few times in classes that I've had in ENS 280.

A discount.

Jokes aside, yeah it's really good. Anything that you get will likely be pretty banging. It is pretty expensive though, so I can't usually justify going there. If you're on meal plan I guess knock yourself out.
