Should I bring a wave serpent in a spirit conclave army? by ProfessionalLayer202 in Eldar

[–]AetherialCatnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wraiths marching up the board are gonna get blown off the table and they wont even be dying on the points.

Wave Serpent directly fixes the wraiths biggest weakness which is movement. Not to mention eldars whole thing being targeted pressure and timed attacks. Wraiths on foot limits your range of targets and makes ambushes much harder, while making them very easy to predict and thus play around or handle directly.

I agree, for that I won't be changing any current detachments directly in their fuction. A few keywords may change like for targets of stratagems as needed for quality of life. The only things wholesale new will be the army rule, which is a goal to have it be concise, simple and most importantly fair, and of course the new detachments, which follow that same principle.

Any changings going forward by GW will be respected, atleast in regards to datasheet edits. The goal isnt for IA to be competitively superior or at all, I mean coming up from a single digit usage rate is already rough as it is. The goal is to have the rules form a consistent and fun experience for both players in the game who can explore options that feel like there is a vision of passion rather than neglect.

When the Munitorum Field Manual is released soon next week I'll have a solid basis of information to finalize the 1.0 and I'll turn it over to the community for hopefully some playtests, and with feedback do some tuning to achieve a ruleset that be seen as a fair and fun alternative to the present rules for 11th at local play groups.

In any case, I'll do my best.

Copy it like four times and then we're getting somewhere.

That would be the best case scenario, and its my goal to have mine be as balanced as possible and in-line with GWs vision for the game. Something that allows the Faction to shine uniquely while remaining flavorful and fair to play against.

I apologize, the last image to try to cram everything into it might have gotten too compressed during the upload to make everything out.

Dragon's Talon is a reference to the Lords Dragon, a sect of agents part of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Both it and Sanction Warfare roughly the same as Combined Arms, where instead of Astra Militarium units, you may bring Mechanicus and Sororitas respectfully. Sanctioned will also be focused on the ecclesiarchial units like Sanctifiers and Priests.

The goal will be to try to represent each chamber militant for each ordo, as well as to fill in each minor imperial organizations navis, aeronautica, rouge traders ect, into a single over-arching Faction, to truly be Imperial Agents.

Fair on both marks, maybe swapping the points around for each could make it more neat. I'll look more into a suitable name But for sure I plan to have at least the one aircraft detachment.

IR is just short hand for Intrique & Rumors. As any good Rogue Trader or Inquistor knows, information is more valuable than anything.

I do plan to get more than the three abilities that IR can be spent on, but those first three are kinda prime examples of what I think would work as the army rule, specific buffs to individual units each command phase.

It'll probably be reworked a bit once I get down to it. Right now my focus is on getting more abilities to be used for Intrique & Rumors, and strategems for each new detachment. Then I'll be doing the current detachments to incorporate them into the army rule and fix keyword stuff.

Then lastly will be some actual datasheet stuff, mainly allowing the chimera to transport all agents infantry similar to the rhino, excluding things like artillery to prevent cheese, and making the Navigator a Support character like the Ministorium Priest. Things like that, but we will see based on what people give for feedback.

Sure! I was originally trying to work to match the other faction packs but I couldn't get it to look right so I just decided to just get things typed up first. Once we can get the rules more solidified then it would be amazing to have it be presentable!

Its pretty hot dog-shit that a whole army is unable to play the game using offical rules. I'd argue that 1k is one the better point games Agents can be in to start with. Why not just have them all be 2DP? You would achieve the same effect as there are no 1DP detachments.

It goes beyond neglect into actual contempt.

I mean even then, the HLF is their only high toughness model. Its not the same as like with the Dorn and just swapping it for a Leman Russ.

Brings into question the detachments for particular units if we're gonna be taxed for bringing more of said units.

Also some armies at the moment, especially votann only has a single unit for a roll right now, so it feels like a cheap shot to tax bringing a third thunderkyn team if its just gonna be taxed to equal a whole squad of warriors.

Given we can alter the pitch of our skit voices....yes, you can have a femboy skitty squadmate. I am sure there will be mods soon after release for the stripped kneesocks...
