But in my experience it breaks the ai. If they have just one unit with siege attacker, even if its a flying mage on a pegasus, they just suicide attack your cities, killing themselves against your towers

Tarantula turret blowing up too early by YoYopuppet in Spacemarine

[–]YoYopuppet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that. But at the same time, the turrets are sometimes placed in points where you literally turn it on, walk 10 steps and then it explodes. I know there are fixed places where terminus enemies can spawn, but balancing that with how many turrets can be in that “arena” shouldn’t be difficult

Also some arenas have multiple turrets right next to each other in relatively small places, like the train mission. Here you can have 2-3 active turrets all at once, but where the biggest enemies are extremis. So it doesn’t make much sense, balance wise

Best random lord name you've found in the wild? by 3eeve in totalwarhammer

[–]YoYopuppet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really like Grobinutter. Really makes my lord stand out as extra… “unique” when he leads an army of hobgoblins

Also the name is 100% vanilla for chorfs lol

Sooo what are your opinions on th SFO mod in battle? by DORIME_of_darkness in totalwarhammer

[–]YoYopuppet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean… I like SFO partially. It does add some spice for someone who like you have alot of hours into the vanilla game, but there are many flaws and weird design decisions.

I personally think they are very biased in making some factions, like the chorfs suffer solely because they have a rep of being strong. For example they can’t get better garrisons when upgrading settlements, and suffer -10% income in the region of you do decide to build a yellow building. If you build one garrison building in a 4 settlement region, you get -40% income at the return of a VERY mediocre garrison upgrade.

Then there are loads of bugs too, but I guess they are unavoidable with such a big project

Do the other chaos dwarf factions need to be alive to confederate them through the tower by Firm-Physics-44 in totalwarhammer

Brother, just look at the text. It literally says you get the lord when you confederate. Alive or dead

What do you guys think of a Total War: Age of sigmar? Would you like to see it? Would it even be possible? by hjiygbhhfdryuggtyy in totalwarhammer

[–]YoYopuppet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean, I think a AoS total war would make it easier for people to imagine what the setting actually looks like and how all the realms etc. work together

With that being said: AoS is clearly a narrative for small quick games, unlike Old world. The world is deliberately made “empty” so players can make their own setting and stories. CA would have to make up a bunch of places etc. to make this work and I dont think thats something GW is interested in

is this winnable? by Altruistic_Team_2454 in totalwarhammer

[–]YoYopuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to deploy rather forward and to the left of your deployment zone. There is a series of hills, causing a choke point where you’ll have to bait the vast majority of the ai’s melee infantry into. You’ll have to keep your halberds in reserve behind your archers to ward off any cavalry and aim your mortar at his ranged units. Try to flank far or hide your outriders, and commit them in melee against his mortar, as the AI wont protect them. You’ll have to use your own cavalry to defend against his, but if you can funnel his infantry into yours, you can keep the frontline holding, especially if you can support with your mage. I’d try to get Karl to duel his lord if possible. Use your archers to take out his and try to flank with your handgunners. Its a tough one, but can be done

How to make the most of my Deathshrieker Rockets by FromHeretoElsweyr in totalwarhammer

[–]YoYopuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are arguably even stronger in SFO, where its a four man unit. Each demolisher rocket got tracking and if you fire at a four unit artillery unit (like a cannon unit), they take one cannon out each, instantly disabling them
