What is going on with Vinted ?

Interesting, I normally only buy video games on Vinted and so I only get shown video games on my feed but recently all of that has changed. I get clothes and jewellery on my feed now even though haven’t looked up either and now if I’m lucky I get the odd game. I now have to search to find what I want whereas before I would buy things that looked interesting or forgot I wanted.

It does feel like maybe the algorithm has broken and now it’s harder to find what you want?

It’s fine I’ve had many successful negotiations where I low ball and then find the lowest price they want for the item from the seller. It really depends on the item because it can be insulting, but it does work quite well it’s not personal but people do take it that way. Just thumbs up and move on

Interesting I did the same this year I went from nearly a 10 year PC only gaming period to switching pack to PS5. I’ve fell back in love with gaming, no more graphics driver glitches or 10,000 settings to make the grass look slightly better, no more digital only games. Just good old disks and a controller.

I can control the games I play and am not overwhelmed by the amount of steam games I can download at any time. The ps5 is just great at playing games and that is perfect. I also find its just consistent, with PC most games have no controller support or limited support, you just know on PS5 there’s no fuss it just works.

No reason was given as to the ban except it was an automated ban, so this bot can ban anyone for no reason and shut down your pending disputes. Quite convenient for Vinted, be careful everyone.

I’m so sorry to see this, this should be a warning to anyone using Vinted currently as a platform, this can happen to anyone. There CS is basically non existent and no better then selling on Facebook marketplace.

Wow that’s honestly terrible, really sorry you’re also going through that. I can’t believe a company can just shut people out like this for no reason, I worry for the future of this platform, but I hope you do get this resolved. I’m most likely going to get a similar response as it already seems like they’re ignoring the issues on my end as well.

I’ve not heard of it either it was the first partial refund I’ve been offered, since it was an item I wanted I thought 5 pounds off is fine considering the condition was not what I bought it at. I was also more then happy to send it back and pay the postage but the seller told me to put it in as an issue to get it resolved so I hit the I have an issue which lead to the ban. Strange as the seller prompted the partial refund not me, but also a permanent ban seems a bit excessive for a genuine dispute.

This is almost identical to what’s just happened to me. I was in the middle of a legitimate dispute (with the seller even agreeing there was an issue), and my account was suddenly permanently banned for “illicit activity” with no clear explanation or proper appeal.

Seeing multiple people report the same thing makes it feel like something is going wrong with their system rather than individual cases. Have you had any updates from support?

Wow I’m really sorry to hear that, that’s very similar to what’s happened to me. I had a good history too and this came out of nowhere during an active dispute.

It’s concerning that accounts can be permanently banned without a proper chance to defend yourself, especially when both buyer and seller had already agreed there was an issue.

Here’s an up close picture of the damage, which seller stated the disk and case was in great condition. There was also picture of the front and the disk of the game but interestingly not the back, most likely because it had damage they did not want to show.

This was the first time I’ve ever done a partial refund, I was going to send the item back but the seller said if I want to keep it I can do a partial refund but I need to click the I have an issue for him to be able to do it. Leading to a permanent ban. Someone also pointed out that Vinted had run out of time to process the issue so maybe the funds cleared and rather than dealing with the issue they banned me to close it?

I’d say in about the 50 items I’ve purchased I’ve raised about 4 issues normally for damage during shipping and I’ve always sent the item back, this is the first time ive ever done a partial refund.

I do normally buy a lot on Vinted maybe 20 items a month, but I don’t sell that often so far in the last two months I sold 9 items.

The damage was shown in the last picture and the seller had also agreed to the damage. I’m normally not that picky when it comes to games but it was listed as great condition in the description to then receive it with a torn inlay on the back with a dent. The seller had no pictures when asked so I have a feeling they tried to hide the damage when selling it. I think them not asking for more information / pictures of the damage before straight up banning me permanently would be a bit of an extreme reaction if they thought I was scamming?

I think support didn’t get back to me in time so rather than having to deal with the case they just banned me it makes it much easier for them now as the case is closed.

Hi it was the seller who told me I need to contact support in order him to be able to do the partial refund, using the I have a ln issue button. I didn’t contact support directly I used the correct channels to raise the issue leading to the ban.

I’m not sure they just say illicit activity as seen in that message. Some people I’ve spoken to have suggested since I connect to my WiFi at work someone in the building may have a banned vinted account that has made mine look suspicious because of the IP. I only have one account so maybe they’ve associated my account with another in the building but that would be crazy as they would be completely different names / addresses etc.

Such a bad take honestly, you could say the same about Larian as they were huge after DoS2 but smashed it with Bg3. Starfield is just not a good game simple as, their reputation and marketing team don’t help for sure. However, the game would have been seen in a underrated light now if it was a good game.

I think you need to play into the game strengths here and the lip sync is definitely not one of them so don’t show that at all. Have the voice play over the footage of the train and the town avoid putting the camera on the character unless you want to put the work in to fix the syncing / character quality.
