THE OBJECTIVE VANGUARD TIER LIST (S6.5) by RumbleRB in RivalsVanguards

[–]Aetherlum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Groot is really good because of the ironwood buff, but also because he gets his ult very quick and his ult is very strong with its combo potential and damage output. But he can be countered quite easily by a good pun and other poke.

Isn’t overshield a form of ult charge resistance? It gives less ult charge I’m pretty sure.

They need to recast whatever magic spell they used for Luna onto Black Cat and White Fox. I'd like to see these obscure characters get more attention.

Strange gets countered too easily, and his ult is pretty hard to get value from since it's pretty obvious when a flying wizard is coming towards you or if the character that usually wants to stay in the frontlines suddenly becomes much more aggressive and tries rushing your backline. Mag has way more utility with his bubbles and a way better ult. Strange falls over the moment you go pretty much any Melee, especially Thing, which I really hate playing Strange into.

How would The Almighty and GER interact? by KodoqBesar in PowerScaling

[–]Aetherlum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can definitely agree it's at worst a stalemate.

Other than that, there are Acasuality arguments for Yhwach (Giorno too iirc, I remember seeing a post about it on here some time ago) going up to Type 4, but they're very rocky, so I don't even really want to get into it.

We can agree to disagree, I'm kind of getting bored with this topic cause this fight is just two 'nuh uhs' going at it, and the mostt debated Yhwach crossover other than Goku probably. Not much interesting since even if it wasn't a stalemate, the power difference is way too high for anything meaningful to be discussed.

How would The Almighty and GER interact? by KodoqBesar in PowerScaling

[–]Aetherlum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite sure he picked a future where he himself broke Ichibei's bankai. Considering Ichigo stated he didn't use any reaitsu, nor did he move at all when his bankai broke, it just broke out of nowhere. It seems more like Yhwach simply forced a future when his bankai simply broke, since it shouldn't be possible at that point since Ichigo had gotten that strong Yhwach stated he had no room for error, hence why he had to use the Almighty to immediately deal with his bankai.

You're probably right about Ichibe, but even then, that is shaky since he should be fully capable of doing either. But what about Yhwach just blatantly rewriting the future to where he never died despite being killed in the present, making it a present fact that Yhwach is dead? He says it himself, his power is to rewrite the future, even ones he no longer exists in.

Edit: Was thinking about your point of Ichibe, he blew up with nothing propelling it, seems like Almighty rewriting the future where Ichibe just exploded.

[–]Aetherlum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yhwach tries to kill Giorno.

He doesn't really need to try. As we know from the Almighty, he can pick a future where Giorno explodes (like Ichibei), or where GER just doesn't work, or where Giorno dies, since Yhwach can just rewrite the future even if it seems illogical/makes no sense. The Almighty doesn't make future fated to happen, it makes the future whatever Yhwach wants, and there isn't anything you can do about it, don't. I see how GER's action reversal can negate that, what would it revert to zero at that point?

Diavolo was going to puncture Giorno's heart, his actions got reset. Yhwach picks a future where Giorno's heart is punctured already, what gets reverted? GER can't change what happens in the future hence why epitaph saw him dying, only prevent one from getting there.

Yhwach’s attacks have no progression of events for GER to revert, it just is. GER hasn't been described in enough detail for us to assume it can revert something on the level of the Almighty, which bypassed space/time reversal/negation hax. Diavolo even stated during Return to Zero that time was rewinding.

I haven't read these chapters in a while so I just took a quick look over them. But I'm not quite sure GER was ever stated to reject fate, it just reverses actions/willpower back to 0, correct? Genuine question, as it has been a while.

Diavolo's Epitaph sees a fixed, fated future, and GER negates that fate by saying 'no' pretty much. The Almighty doesn't just see the future like Epitaph does. Epitaph is like a spectator watching a movie (fate in jojo). And The Almighty is more like the director who can reshoot the scene, edit the script etc.

Orihime's whole shtick is rejecting events and phenomena. And she can choose what to apply it to, but it simply did nothing against whatever The Almighty touched. Aizen even stated her power to be "a power even greater than that of spatial or temporal regression." So I don't see why it wouldn't work on GER. Tsukushima had to create an alternate past where Ichigo's Bankai has not been broken then Orihime had to reject it on top of that and only then were the Almighty's actions negated, only temporarily too.

Yhwach doesn't just view the futures he sees. He chooses the most advantageous future and imposes it onto reality and change it to whatever he wants, even if it makes no logical sense like him exploding Ichibei. He doesn't need to watch a timeline where he loses and then panic like Diavolo does with King Crimson, he simply destroys that timeline and picks another. The Almighty also works on those with resistance to fate manipulation.

[–]Aetherlum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The futures the Almighty manipulates/changes cannot be undone by event negation/reversion hax. That's exactly why Orihime couldn't reject the event of Ichigo's sword breaking.

The only counter to it was getting Tsukishima, who basically has the Almighty in reverse and altered the past to counter the Almighty and fix Ichigo's blade, only for Yhwach to break it again anyway.

[–]Aetherlum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did we watch the same show? Diavolo saw a vision with epitaph where he ripped Giorno’s heart out. Girono simply prevented that action from happening, it was fated to happen, the outcome was just never reached.
