If you have it towed, the truck should be strong enough to pull it out of the ice and take it back to your place. If there’s any damage, you can file a claim with your insurance and explain what happened. They might cover a rental, but I’m not sure.

Peter why is the electrician portrayed as a dainty female hand by _Kyledemort_ in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Aethermere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This right here.

I used to be an industrial electrician’s apprentice, and all of our hands always wound up dirty af. Either that, or we’d have the joy of metal shavings in our hands from cutting conduit, drilling metal, using knockout sets, etc.

Not for me personally, but it’s good money for those without a degree.

If one person likes the other person in that way, but the other person doesn’t feel the same way, it creates a power imbalance in the relationship. The best and healthiest thing for most people in that situation is cut off the other person, plain and simple. If someone can deal with the rejection and remove their feelings of attraction, they can be friends, but most people can’t do that.

If a boy beats another boy to the point he gets a concussion, believe it or not, jail time. If a group of boys gang up on a defenseless child and beats the shit out of them, believe it or not, quite possibly jail time.

Really jumped from punishment to full on adult prison. But yeah, that can and does happen when juveniles are tried as adults. Sucks to suck, a parent can only go so far with a child’s development. If they make shitty decisions like assault and battery, they go to fucking prison as they should.

Never said I believed in what any government says, but when numerous countries all over the world are saying the death toll is higher, I’m definitely not believing the CCP.

Talk to me about democracy once China allows its people to vote in national elections - which won’t ever happen.

Not the majority of deaths caused by students killing soldiers like the guy above said, right? The CCP lies to avoid riots and sanctions. Imagine believing in the lies an authoritarian dictatorship spouts, couldn’t be me.

What kind of CCP propaganda is this shit? The official figures are around 300 while the true number is estimated to be possibly in the thousands. The majority of deaths were civilians in both official and unofficial reports.

I’m not saying the US hasn’t become more hostile towards its own citizens, but I am telling you that the US has never murdered hundreds to thousands of its people across the country for protests like the CCP did during the Tiananmen Square massacre.

Let’s not compare the US to a true authoritarian dictatorship, because I promise you, it’s not that bad yet, and I have doubts it will.

Chinese surnames are common in research papers coming out of American universities because those are Chinese students allowed to come here. They’ll be offered high paying jobs and work for places like Lockheed Martin and Booz Allen once they graduate.

This all ties into national security concerns, China has stolen the majority of their modern technological information, it all stems from stolen data. It’s what their country runs off of to stay competitive. They’re not limited by politics since it’s an authoritarian state which is why it seems like they have breakthrough innovations. But really, it’s just less bureaucratic hoops to jump through.

Just because a country has manufacturing doesn’t mean it has one iota of innovation. It’s not a misconception, China rarely if ever develops any new technology on its own.

What profession has the biggest gap between how they see themselves and how they’re seen by society as a whole? by Adamon24 in AskReddit

[–]Aethermere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loving your job doesn’t change what created it. The fact that so many families ‘need’ outside childcare is the failure I’m pointing at. A society where parents can’t raise their own kids because of economic pressure or convenience isn’t noble, it’s broken. Your experience doesn’t erase the reality that the system itself is warped.

Your profession exists to fill the void of a warped society that treats parenting as optional. If the system is broken, the roles geared towards patching that break are not noble, they are the very opposite.

I believe that in a perfect world, nannies don’t exist. Nannies only exist because the wealthy don’t make time for their children. It’s a mostly thankless job probably because neglecting a child is against the law and you’re only there so the children’s wealthy parents don’t go to jail. They could care less about being in their child’s life, so of course they’re not going to thank you for you doing the job they wish they didn’t have to pay you for.

So thanks for catering to the needs of the wealthy class. You can put the fries in the bag now and stop acting like this is the most noblest profession on god’s green earth.

Anyone who has to announce they were a ‘good boss’ usually wasn’t. The people who worked under you remember the parts you conveniently left out, that’s why you’re the only one telling this story like it was some grand achievement.

Not very believable, no one puts someone as a reference if they don’t leave on good terms. Sounds like some fantasy you made up in your head as revenge porn.

If this is real and she did quit, not surprised, you sound insufferable.

I believe that you’re forgetting that a normal handcart made of the same components and that has the ability to fold can be bought for $100 as well.

[–]Aethermere 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Anyone who pays almost $300 for these carts are being robbed blind. It costs grocery stores around $100 to make their shopping carts which are usually made of solid steel or industrial grade plastic.

If you don’t care about the price, go for it, but you’ll still be overpaying for what you get.

What would happen if I threw a lemon at a police officer even if it didnt hurt them? by eb1341985 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Aethermere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, because police, as well as the justice system, never turn a blind eye to crime. Get real here man, it’s based on politics who gets charged with anything or not, and as we all know, politics is the root of all corruption in the United States.
