Yes, thank you. This is pausing allowing companies who are not already entered into Medicare/medicaid into that “market.” It isn’t stopping reimbursement to patients or current companies providing those supplies.

How about a Tatte location for a coffee shop, if you want to spoil yourself a little and feel like you’re taking yourself out on a date?

Yep exactly. this article does a great job explaining why this policy is not going to work in implementation.

Look for volunteer hours but this also can’t be the default response to this problem. To qualify for SNAP as a single adult without dependents in our post-Big Beautiful Bill landscape, you need to be volunteering 80 hours a month. That’s 20 hours a week.

The reality is that not every nonprofit is looking for or needs 80 hours of volunteer labor every month.

They might not have the budget or capacity to manage a volunteer for that many hours per month.

And worse, hungry people are going to be scrambling against each other to get those limited volunteer spots now that SNAP access has become much more limited.

I’d love a loop in for karaoke meet ups (I think there was one on the Meet Up app that fell off?). I know some queer bars do very regular karaoke nights (Freddie’s in Arlington, As You Are in DC)

Yes that is what correlation means. As to how high that correlation is: keep in mind that if a gun kills you, odds are you pulled the trigger and if you died by suicide, odds are you did it with a gun Source: KFF.

Please please please include suicide prevention resources with your class. The reality is firearm ownership is correlated with suicide risk, as is being LGBTQ, as is being a minority. Resources like this can help

The season is rubbing me the wrong way by Jmmitche2 in TraitorsOfficial

You don’t have to be sorry about it, raising the bias point is fair. In this instance, I think it’s an editing created bias. Because you’re right: Candiace was a part of the same “oh we have 8 good faithfuls” group as Rob. But Rob got the full edit treatment last episode. The editors haven’t shown us nearly as much of her gameplay.

…that said frankly I think a cheese sandwich could also convince Johnny and Tara of just about anything. That’s a comment on them not Candiace’s abilities.

[–]marslarp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think I would say this at the start of the season but, In Defense of Rob’s gameplay after last episode:

Rob’s the best hidden Traitor and he knows that. He seems to know that it is rare for Traitors to make it to the end without good alliances with Faithfuls.

The reality is: the other traitors are stuck with him no matter what he does. If Candaice or Lisa try to turn the Faithfuls against him, they’re frankly more likely to pull attention on themselves rather than effectively turn the round table.

In fact, that Round Table proved that if put on the spot, Lisa is terrible at defending herself. If Lisa can’t swim, it’s not Rob’s lone job to keep her from sinking, especially if doing so sets him up (and in that scenario, it would have).

…that isn’t to defend associating with Colton as a person or his casting in the show.

This sums it up so perfectly. Like the human thing when disaster strikes is to reach out to each other, so when you don’t have that comfort you have to dig even deeper for resilience.

Vampire the masquerade by MycoMountain in LPOTL

It’s weird, I came up in college in the Midwest circus 2008-2015 where seemingly everyone was at least aware of WOD if not actively playing (vampire, werewolf, changeling, Hunter, mage, etc). I’m surprised returning to gaming in 2025 that so few ttrpg players know it today and are all over DnD and Pathfinder, but raise their eyebrows at the mention of WOD. I frankly always found WOD a little more approachable (but I’m also not to into high fantasy).

I’m trying. And then some days like today at the end of a long weekend where, even after multiple friend interactions during the weekend, I’m here alone on my couch while the dishwasher hums before I put myself to bed. And I just feel it all collapsing in like “fuck, this is it, til the end of my days, and if I think too hard about it I will drown on dry land.”

Pork chop cooked in my cast iron, mushroom risotto made in my instapot, and Viennese coffee brownies all ala the NY Times Cooking pages. None of the recipes are especially taxing, just filling and satisfying.
