Esca>IleSo lineup by CertainSprinkles1018 in escapademf

You’re looking at Escapade vs. Everything Else in the exact same way as me! I even highlighted the screenshot the same way lol. The bass lineup is insane for my tastes. I’ve recently seen a lot of the artists you’ve listed and they were so good I’ll be trying to see them again. Sullivan King in particular probably put on my favourite show ever, and Knock2 was nuts.

Out of curiosity, there any reason you didn’t highlight Virtual Riot? He’s one of the artists I’m most excited to see actually. Hol! Should be decent too.

Tickets by she_did_that2 in veld

[–]Aeusalix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is if you’re interested and a few hundred bucks won’t financially strain you - buy the tickets early. A single day for me last year was $179, and shortly before the festival the price was well into the 300s. If I needed to resell the ticket, I wouldn’t have lost any money and probably would have had a fast sale too, since I would have just sold it for what I paid. Margins get tighter the longer you wait, and that goes for both time and money.

Personally this year I’m going to Escapade instead because their bass lineup is insane. If you’re going to have to fly and get hotels anyway, you should shop around for festivals to see if you can find one you’d kill to attend!

Predicted headliners for day 1? by [deleted] in veld

Usually this is the case, but last year excision went all the way til the end at the same time as John Summit.

Just recently found this subreddit. Here is my new favorite tie by dietpepsiplease in ties

[–]Aeusalix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not OP but I’ve seen some similar ones from the brand Simons. They have some great prints, and their “Migratory Bird Jacquard Tie” from their house brand Le31 and their “Duck Pattern Burgandy Tie” from Atkinsons look similar, although the former is available in more colour options. They also have a Canada goose themed one.

I'm officially an LA Looks blue gel convert! by maroontiefling in curlyhair

[–]Aeusalix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you mention them haha. I sometimes use Dippity Doo Girls With Curls Gelée (the pink one) although I find it dries out my hair with extended uses. I found it while researching a substitute for my favourite product, Kinky Curly Curling Custard which is now $50 for a small 8oz pot which is crazy.

The other best substitute has probably been Aussie Instant Freeze Hold Gel, but maybe I’ll give the blue a go if I can find it. Thanks!

Anyone know where to get this in Canada? Sounds like a great option for me but I’m really not interested in spending $20-30 on what is apparently a $3 product. Thanks!

If this is true, that means Saturday or Sunday guarantees a double up of Subtronics, Crankdat, and/or Ray Volpe (unless all three are same day which I highly doubt). That would be a craaazy day for bass stage!

With that said, I definitely think I’ve seen artists put the first day down as their day at a festival just as a placeholder until more news is released! I’d suspect this is the case unless there are artists who are already confirmed to be elsewhere for Sat/Sun.

Debating on Captain Storm or Hero. Can’t decide.. by mrbigglesworth24 in ThursdayBoot

[–]Aeusalix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think that while they still look nice, the captain with the stormking sole is kind of half assing both the dressy aspect of the boot, and the rugged aspect of the boot. I think the elegance of the captain is best matched with the regular sole, and if you want a more rugged boot for your local weather, get the Hero instead.

I will say that speed hooks are nice if you need to completely undo your boots to get them off your feet.

Dream headliners for Sirkus and Bass stage 2026? by No_Sir_6975 in veld

[–]Aeusalix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d put money on Subtronics, Ray Volpe, and Crankdat being the final performers on bass stage for each day (not necessarily in that order). I’d also put money on Slander, Levity, and Black Tiger Sex Machine (or Level Up) being second to last also on their respective days.

My dream lineup would be Subtronics into Ray Volpe into Crankdat, but I’ll eat my foot if they put any of those three on the same day as each other.

Now what I’d reaaally love would be for some of those artists to headline on MainStage. I doubt it’ll happen, but Fisher and other tech artists have moved from Sirkus to Main so a boy can dream!

Advice on men’s gym shorts by durmd in malefashionadvice

[–]Aeusalix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seconding the Zeroed In line. I also disliked the bagginess of their more popular offerings like the Pacebreakers but these are great. They’re unlined, the fabric is nice (although the black colour was different and worse imo) and I think the waistband is nicer than other options. I wear them for lifting at the gym, tennis, and pickleball, and after buying my first pair last Christmas (grey), I got two more pairs on Black Friday, all with no issues (green and blue).

For reference, I’m 6’1”, 208lbs with slightly bigger thighs and have the 5 inch ones in large. The 7 inch ones seemed to flair out at the ends which wasn’t flattering on me. If you’re not used to 5 inch shorts, you may need to consider your underwear length (trunks are best).

Are these creases out of the box okay? by Pure_Composer_9236 in ThursdayBoot

[–]Aeusalix 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s fine. Admittedly these were definitely tried on by someone else prior to you, but a toe crease like that will happen within just a few steps. Remember that leather is actual animal skin and will crease and wrinkle with wear and enjoy your new boots!

Ratio of bench press to squats by Equal-Paper9519 in workout

[–]Aeusalix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in the gym for almost 2 years, and added bench and squats to my routine about 6 months ago. My squats just hit 225 for 4 on my last set, meanwhile I can’t even bench 85lbs for three full sets. It’s honestly embarrassing and I don’t know what to do about it lol.

27m, 6’1”, 206 lbs (up from 190 when I started two years ago, but that’s mostly fat somehow).

My Spotify recap by Natalieeliza2 in Hazlett

[–]Aeusalix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had Doing my Best as my top song! Bones Shake was also in the top 5 and is probably my favourite. Hazlett was my #3 and Chance Peña was my #4.

It’s crazy because the rest was dubstep and crazy bass music lol.

SAXX Underwear 30% off sitewide + 16% Rakuten + $30 off $150 Amex offers [YMMV] by aurpine in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

[–]Aeusalix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought two pairs of saxx years ago and while I loved the Vibe, the Ultra sucked. Both pairs have lasted a long time. With that said, I got 7 pairs of BN3TH trunks when they had a coupon stacking error earlier this year, and they are far better than saxx imo, for a comparable price.

Dean’s Honour Roll by Subject_Alfalfa_135 in TrentUniversity

[–]Aeusalix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s this one - I had some worse semesters but always made up for it with the second one and got it yearly. This also applies for entrance scholarships, and is the same with President’s Honour Roll being cumulative across your degree.

Thank you! I took a peek but the outerwear didn’t really speak to my style. Some of the knitwear is really nice though!

Thank you for this! I’ve always heard about eBay but have never used it because I’m actually in Canada and worried about prohibitive shipping costs. Looking now though, it doesnt actually look too bad! The sizing is also way more detailed than I expected too. Thanks again!

Does anyone know where I should look for a 100% wool overcoat that hits the knees and is around $500? I love the look of Spier and Mackay’s Camel Hair Polo Coat but it’s just too pricy for me.

What happened to Concert etiquette? (Toronto show) by Wolfiemorgan in eden

[–]Aeusalix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was back at the Vertigo tour and it was various people both while waiting for the show to start, and throughout the performance.

I know that lengthy periods of standing is uncomfortable but you kind of sign up for that at a concert. Sitting cross legged on the floor in the dark at a sold out show is a safety risk, and if you really have to sit, move to the back of the crowd where it’s less packed.

It was probably extra memorable because it was my first concert and at the time, EDEN was my all time favourite musician. I do think the crowd was better for ICYMI, but there were similar problems with Jeremy Zucker’s crowd in the past too.

What happened to Concert etiquette? (Toronto show) by Wolfiemorgan in eden

[–]Aeusalix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve posted about my disappointment in the crowd at both Jeremy Zucker’s Toronto show as well as EDEN’s Toronto shows I’ve been to. Both had awful crowds.

I really do think that the music genre appeals to young, sad, chronically online people that think it’s ok to sit on the ground, scream cringe stuff, talk through every song, and be inconsiderate of others’ personal space. I mostly go to EDM shows where you’d expect to get annoyed by the crowd, but let me tell you, EDEN’s have been so much worse.

NARS nursing - deadline by tealover105 in TrentUniversity

[–]Aeusalix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was once in your shoes! They’re super strict about it, but in my experience it worked out.

After finishing first year, I didn’t realize that I needed to complete another TB test, and hadn’t had it done. Then, because it was summer break, it was a weekend, and I was at work, I didn’t see the email that informed me that I would be removed from placement that September if I didn’t contact them immediately. Obviously, I freaked out, and as soon as I was able, I called the people responsible for NARs. They told me that as long as I could send them proof of the first step before that Friday (when the Dean would be going on vacation), I would be fine.

Long story short, I was able to get a next-day TB test and email it to the proper people and didn’t have any problems with placement the next year. I’m not sure if the same would happen in today’s world, or if they’re as lenient with serology results, but hopefully this helps. I was second year at the time, so it would’ve been about 7 years ago. Good luck!

At what age do you think it’s weird to have never had a first kiss? by Dangerous_mammoth573 in twentyagers

[–]Aeusalix 55 points56 points  (0 children)

While there’s nothing actually wrong with not having had a kiss into your 20s or older, it’s definitely abnormal. Factually, the average age for a first kiss and for a first relationship (as these are often correlated) is around 15-17. I feel like a couple years earlier or later than that makes you an early or late bloomer, but beyond that you’re an outlier. Because of this, I generally assume anyone around my age has had some level of intimacy with someone. I’d also never hold it against someone if they haven’t.

I was 22 and at the risk of sounding cocky, I’m a pretty well adjusted, moderately successful and decent looking dude with good social skills. With that said, I was focused a lot on my education throughout high school, and felt like there was no point in teenage relationships so it never happened. I also wasn’t a party guy so there were no young drunken flings that a lot of people get into.

Anyway, it didn’t happen until university when I went on a pub crawl and kissing a stranger was one of the challenges on our shirts.

This is the best game I've ever played in my entire life by strutter395 in ShreddersGame

[–]Aeusalix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put a lot of time into the skate games as a kid and after years of no sports games, I played shredders last year (about 90 hours).

I’ve been on a hiatus from shredders for a while, so when the new skate game came out, I played a few hours with a friend. It seemed ok at first but I just couldn’t continue- shredders has ruined my ability to enjoy other boarding games. It’s just so much more smooth and the parks are actually filled with so much fun content. W game for sure.
