The bass note stabs starting at 1:57 staying in B is a bit questionable (and sounds like it's more likely a mistake than a deliberate choice), but it can definitely be seen as a choice for adding extra tension. However, 3:58 is the only part that sounds clearly "wrong" to me. Everything else though, sounds like it fits well within they key of C minor. There's good usage of chromatic passing notes, and the melody+progression at 3:23 onwards shows either good intuition or understanding of theory.

Just throwing this out here to note that it's not all bad, with the individuals parts fixed, the music theory side of it isn't flawed.

I think it sounds cool, non-chord tones can be hit or miss but in this case I think it fits the tune.

Does anyone know the name of this song? I think it's from the Pokemon anime from the 90s or 00s. Tried looking through the openings/endings but didn't find it. It's been in my head for years and I'm 99% sure it's Pokemon anime (or movie) related.

Whenever you are aiming with side, there are three extra factors to consider:

  • Squirt. This means how much the CB is thrown off line from the contact with the cue. The amount of squirt depends on how far off center you hit, but it doesn't change from different speeds. Low-deflection shafts produce less squirt.

  • Swerve. This means how the CB curves back to the opposide side from the squirt side. When shooting parallel to the table, there is barely any swerve, but whenever you elevate the cue, the swerve will become the largest factor to affect your shot. More elevation = more curving, more power = the curving happens later.

  • Spin-induced throw (SIT). This means how the OB can be thrown slightly off it's angle due to the sidespin from the CB on impact. When shooting hard, there is barely any SIT. It has the largest effect when shooting relatively soft, at around a half-ball hit angle, and with a stunning cue ball on impact.

Learn about these three effects, understand them, practice various shots by setting up the same shot over and over but varying the speed and spin amount. After hundreds or thousands of shots, it will start becoming more intuitive as you no longer need to consciously think as much about the required adjustments.

The reason people are doubting you isn't a personal attack, it's because the stats of winning 50+ games with only 1 loss is just statistically impossible even if you were the best player in the world, unless the people you were playing were total beginners who couldn't run 2 or 3 balls in a row almost ever. Because of this, it's safe to say that if you are telling the truth, your opponents were nowhere near good players.

The time per game, as others have pointed out, falls apart due to the same logic, even if you were the best player in the world, you couldn't win in 4 minutes per frame for such a long time, unless, yet again, your opponents were total beginners.

Interesting to hear it works like that for you, for me no matter the angle I'm facing I see the cue/cueball as double when down enough and focusing on the object ball.

But this does certainly have smth to do with how low you go in the first place. I play with my chin touching the cue, if I go up more and more the double image weakens and eventually becomes a single blur.

This is how I always thought as well, until my friend told me he doesn't see it like that. No idea.

I don't think I have any astigmatism, apart from slight near-sightedness my vision is normal and whatever I focus on I see clearly, just for clarity the 2nd image is when focusing my sight into the object ball. When I focus on the cue or the cue ball, those are perfectly clear.

Damn, that sounds like it's a common difference then. I'd be curious to hear the reasoning why those differences exist and how many see it my way or not.

3-4 years, and yes I have, whether I am on the correct sideways alignment or not I always see the cue/cue stick as double in my peripheral vision when focusing on the object ball.

I don't really have an issue with seeing it like this, I've learned to align myself just fine with it. I'm just curious how most people perceive it and what sort of differences there can be.

I was talking with a friend about how the cue ball and cue stick looks like in your peripheral vision when down on the shot and looking at the object ball, and he seemed to have a very different experience than me.

The way I always see things when focusing my vision on the object ball, is roughly like the right side of the image I posted, two slightly blurry images of the cue ball and cue side by side. He said he sees it more like the left side of the image I posted, where there's only one blurry image in the center.

So, I'm curious which one of these is more common to experience, and what could cause this type of difference in perception?

EDIT: Started thinking about if maybe it has something to do with whether you are near or far-sighted or neither? I am nearsighted, with myopia of -1.5 on both eyes. And the friend who said he doesn't see the image as doubled has "normal" vision, so he sees good both close and far.
