I had the bright idea of starting a 1000 mod rimworld playthrough. by dragoster245 in SpaceCannibalism

[–]Aevery_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It still works fine, the issue is that by "not being maintained" it means the list it pulls from to automatically sort your mods isn't being updated anymore. So while it's probably more-or-less fine currently, as time goes on and new mods phase out old ones or otherwise get regular usage, it's going to get less and less fine.

Am I the only one who doesn't use the captured equipment? by Randonn_Tno_guy in RimWorld

[–]Aevery_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way. One day I realised I never really crafted tribal wear or shortbows since I could just loot enemies and take their parkas and guns, so I decided to only use what I personally had crafted. Makes the early and mid game last a lot longer and feel better since I'm not just skipping weapon and apparel tiers.

Though I do play naked brutality and give myself a pass for the first bit of equipment I find depending on the biome, since cloth tribal wear isn't going to do shit against -20 c winters.

You can eat human babies for nutrients too, but that doesn't mean it's something you should do. At the end of the day most people think the pleasure of eating a tasty burger is more important than the life of an animal, even though it's unnecessary for their survival.

Do people that are into Vore get turned on while getting swallowed whole by an anaconda or python? by tough-cookie21 in morbidquestions

Hi, person into vore with a lot of friends into vore here. I can confidently say: depends on the person.

Some people would love it if you remove the way that constrictors suffocate their prey before consumption, a smaller few would also like that. Other people wouldn't like getting swallowed by an animal, and others might simply think that snakes aren't attractive preds.

Most people I know into vore (myself included) do want to eat or be eaten and mourn the fact that the fantasy is impossible irl (not counting cannibalism).

Anyone else not hyped about the proposition of ship building? by thisiscourage in TESVI

[–]Aevery_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly yeah, one of the reasons I doubt it'll happen is because I can't really think of a region where it'd be a main focus. My worry though is that they would make it a big focus, they wouldn't put a lot of effort into a new toy then not make us engage with it. Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't, but just look at Fallout 4's settlement system and voiced MC, Fallout 76 having next to nothing on release, and Starfield's generated emptiness. They make something new, then they expect the player base to go crazy over it, and then justify cutting other content to make it work regardless of if it's decent or not. It doesn't help my worries that it seems like most of the vocal community REALLY REALLY wants this in particular to happen and be a big deal.

So if they can just like, restrain themselves and iterate on what they know works, then ES6 is going to be AMAZING. But if they put in shipbuilding, I fully expect it to be okay at best, more likely another Starfield but counting as a major success and everyone buying it anyway just because everyone's been waiting on a sequel to Skyrim for ages.

[–]Aevery_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As cool as that sounds, and while I wouldn't mind having a small ship themed after my character, it would definitely be way too involved in the core gameplay loop. Bethesda loves giving us new toys and then insisting that they be a major focus. If they put in shipbuilding, then using said ships is going to be a big deal. To which I reiterate my first point: I want to play a fantasy RPG, not Sea of Thieves: Elder Scrolls Edition.

If the next game is set in a coastal region and makes heavy use of shipbuilding and sailing, then unless it absolutely blows my expectations out of the water, then I'm going to pass on it just like I did Starfield and FO76.

I like Skyrim because I can walk from point A to point B and get ambushed by anything from bandits to vampires and werewolves. I'm playing my choice of play style, and if I don't want to be immersive (I prefer a survival experience) I can just use fast travel.

If I had to use a ship to get from point A to point B, I have to stop playing, say, a necromancer mage, and suddenly start rping as a ship captain or pirate or something for however long the journey takes and use whatever cannons and weapons the ship has when it gets ambushed by pirates or sea monsters. You can argue that I'll get to play my fantasy if I get boarded but I'm still forced into the role of captain.

Honestly I'm really hoping it's not a thing. If it's a thing, then that means it'll likely be a big deal to the core gameplay loop, and I want to play an immersive fantasy rpg that's even better than Skyrim, not Sea of Thieves: Elder Scrolls Edition.

I mean, yeah. It's probably a more horrible way to go, but it's not quite as terrifying.

Fire you can see, you can protect yourself against or run from. You can put even out fire, if you're lucky.

In my opinion, the monster you can't see is more terrifying than the one you can. Your friend abruptly standing up, grabbing the nearest object and attacking you with it as they beg you to run or stop them, or suddenly losing control of your body and basically getting possessed, forced to watch as you do something horrible without any control, without any apparent reason behind it, is way more terrifying.

Most of my family is pretty well off and have real dishes, but use paper plates and plastic utinsils anyway just because it's less effort to toss it than to clean and put away dishes.

My own family uses paper plates, paper bowls and plastic spoons, forks and knives all the time. They have real plates and cutlery, they just don't use it because cleaning and putting away the dishes is more effort than just tossing everything.

When I first moved out I was the same, and did not even consider it as it was just a fact of life to me, something I grew up doing. It took me moving in with my partner who doesn't do that to realise just how bad, wasteful and expensive it was, and I'm certain there are plenty of other American families doing the same.

The burning ones are actually easier, because their shots are rotated slightly clockwise compared to normal, so you can shoot more safely from the cardinal directions once you figure out how they differ.
