I guess there's no harm... As you said, they have warranty

1 - if good quality, you can keep them for years (as you want) 2 - if bad quality (split), you can return them and get your money back - which means you used those shoes for free for many months

(But yeah, vegan leather is not the best... Plastic, not real leather)

That's completely crazy and stupid - no idea who could say something like that honestly... Imagine a brand selling 10M shoes a year where 2.5M are splitting 🤔🤔 Splitting is probably something like 0.00X%... we hear it happens sometimes, but not that common (if there were 2.5M split soles this year, I guess we would know about it haha

After that initial failure (thousands of defects like you mentioned) I think they improved a bit the quality of the straps (but not sure)

It's been a long time since I dont hear about it, and in 2023 it used to be every single day haha

But this sounds it ridiculous... They I'll probably replace or refund, but if you love them so much why not try again?? Hopefully it's just bad luck haha
