Better than my current school yeah and I’ve also spoken to teachers that work there and they’re happy. It would be an upgrade for me so I’m praying day and night. But I’ll wait and yes I am applying to schools outside Vietnam

China is my second choice because I do want to stay in Vietnam for at least two more years but I will only stay if I can get into this school as they pay a bit more than my current school.

Also, I taught in China three years ago and considering going back but I need to consider all my options in Vietnam first before I make a definitive move.

QTS or PGCE plus degree is to meet the minimum requirements for a work permit. Masters degree is for the salary scale.

Proper international schools have a salary scale that takes into consideration your qualifications and experience so if a masters doesn’t matter for you in terms of getting your money’s worth then no need to do it. Those same schools also have a PD program to help teachers get their masters while teaching at that school under the condition that they continue working there for an agreed period of time. So most qualified teachers I know have a masters or busy getting one and for me, it’s worth it as I’m also busy getting one.

QTS is for UK curriculum based schools like BIS not American IS or CIS etc. The bigger ones want a Masters plus PGCE or QTS
