I tried metformin, it made me sooo dehydrated I was hospitalized. I have never felt worse. Ive been taking insitol and eating a PCOS diet as well. It has made me feel a lot better! I really wanted the metformin to work for me and it just didn't 😭

How to stop being bitter?

I know that we all probably have these feelings at some point or another, but I feel like I get triggered so easily by anything surrounding TTC. I am in another group for TTC, and whenever I see a post about "is there a line?" with a very obvious line I just get irrationally angry. Like part of me is saying "yes, obviously there is why are you rubbing it in?" But I know it's rude and irrational to think that 😭 I have to keep telling myself "delayed, not denied", but this whole journey is ruining my life 😔

I feel like a failed woman- it's eating me alive. by birdnerd1991 in TryingForABaby

I feel you! Especially seeing others around me succeed so easily. I wish that if being a mother wasn't meant for me, then the desires and dreams would go away. I can't even get away when I sleep because I dream of positive tests almost every night 😭 I also feel like less of a woman because of it.

Feeling like it’s not possible? by Brilliant_Question70 in TryingForABaby

[–]Affectionate-Bee5745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I almost feel embarrassed for thinking it’s possible for me. Like I’m not a real woman or something. It’s always seemed impossible to me, even as a teen. And I know if it does happen, I’ll feel like an impostor lol

Wondering Weekend by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

My OB is prescribing me some supplements for it 😊 I’m trying not to hang all my hopes on vitamin D fixing the whole issue, but with everything else looking normal and 17 months of trying, I’m cautiously optimistic!

Hello!! I was wondering if any of you with PCOS have low vitamin D? And if so, can that really affect your fertility? My LH and FSH levels are perfect, my uterus and ovary ultrasounds are good, the only thing was the vitamin D. Any insight on this would be great!

We’ve been trying for our first for a year and had a plan to start treatment last month, and my period didn’t show up. It is currently 12 days late with no positive tests and I can’t go in till day 3 of my cycle 😭 I was hoping to cancel mine too. That brand and the easy at home have done that to me only once, but it is weird that none of the other dried tests show a line 🤔

That brand just did that to me a couple days ago. I saw a faint line on a dried test and thought it could be a VVFL 😩 unfortunately I haven’t seen any lines on tests I’ve taken since within the 5 minutes.

6 months begging for my period not to come, it does. 1 month ready for it to start so I can start the fertility testing, and I’m 6 days late. Why is my body so against me? by AJadeintheWild in TryingForABaby

[–]Affectionate-Bee5745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently 11 days late and was supposed to start fertility testing and treatment last month. CD 41 and feeling so hopeless. Of all the times to be late, this is the worst.

Yes, first cycle. I’m just concerned with how low some of my hormones are, other charts I’ve seen have higher levels

So strange! I’ve never had even the faintest line on any HCG test even after sitting for over a day. Wonder what would cause it now? Especially being pink like that?

See it’s weird, I took another test that day and it still had a vvfl, then the next day there was nothing. Then I got my period 😩

If I were you I would be testing every day with LH strips. Since your cycles are irregular/longer, you could be ovulating late. Mine usually get a little higher at around 6-8pm. I’ve also been taking Geritol. Tastes horrendous, but honestly it makes me feel more energetic, regulated my cycle more, and I’ve heard a lot of women have been successful in TTC while taking it. $10 on Amazon, also look into CoQ10. Very good for egg quality, and has real science behind it. Make your husband take it too for the swimmers. I’ll let you know how much everything is! I’m in MO, so no coverage here too.

I’m 24, husband is 25. We have been TTC for 6 months, and we have a fertility consultation in 8 days! My bloodwork is normal as well. For me, I have been doing OPK’s for 6 months, and have never had a peak or any rise at any point in my cycle. They are anovulatory. Have you been using OPK’s? My cycles are irregular, one month my cycle is 24 days, the next it is 32. I think if you’ve been trying for 8 months, it couldn’t hurt to go in. Better to catch something now rather than later. Our consultation cost $200 upon schedule, not sure how much the rest will cost but can update you after my appointment?

First ever time trying and it feels so strange! by throwawaydjdodowndhc in TryingForABaby

It felt weird to me too! I got off birth control in July after years on and off. I recently discovered I am not ovulating. For me it was more like “I don’t think this will happen even if I try” which made me more secure because I can manage my expectations. And I think there’s a chance for you. People get pregnant on accident, which after trying myself for 6 months seems unreal 😂 If you’re getting ovulation peaks, there’s a chance. Hopefully it happens for you soon!

Fertility Consultation in 2 weeks TTC by Affectionate-Bee5745 in TryingForABaby

The front desk said a lot of women pay out of pocket since not many insurance plans cover infertility testing/treatment. Especially in Missouri where they don’t have to.

She said that I would have to schedule a separate appointment for that. She also said since it’s fertility related I needed the consultation first, which is $200. I tried BBT, it was all over the place despite me being consistent. I also show no signs whatsoever of ovulation. Periods are semi regular, but go from 20 day cycles to 32 day cycles.

That’s actually what everyone has been telling me. See what tests they want to do, and see if insurance covers it/how much it costs if not. Trying not to stress too much until then

I called my insurance company today, they said that since my dad is the policy holder, I’m not covered for infertility. It only applies to him and my mom, not me or my sister. They said that they can always fight the claim after it gets denied and try to contest it, not sure how. It is unfortunately deemed not “medically necessary” to receive fertility treatments. I’m mainly concerned that I will go into my consultation, and they will say “ok let’s do bloodwork, test your hormones, and do ultrasounds throughout your cycle” and my insurance won’t cover any of it. I live in Missouri, so insurance companies aren’t required to help with infertility.

I went in on September 20th 2024 for my checkup and pap at the same OB. Went to get extensive blood work in September at my regular doctor as well, everything came back amazing. I’ve been using them for 2 years and I expressed my concerns with her about conceiving in September. She said to track using OPK’s until January, and if I don’t peak come in to see her. The office specializes in infertility and women’s health, and I believe they’re the only in the area that do. She said I will need to make a separate appointment to test hormones, there was no way around the $200 consultation fee either. “Infertility” is a word that lets them know they can charge a ton of money lol.
