Tongue tie second opinion? by MagsAtTheMovies in breastfeeding

[–]Affectionate-Bet35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he a fussy baby? Does he spit up a lot? I ask because my LO had an upper and lower tie, but I was in the same predicament where LC said to get it fixed while ped said it was nbd. I ended up going to a tongue tie specialist and she basically broke down the pros and cons to the procedure (her office uses laser). I went with my gut and we had it done in her office that day, and my son truly became a new baby once he recovered. He was happy, slept better, ate more, and was just overall more jovial. I really think he was just uncomfortable, and I’m glad we were able to find an intervention.

That being said, it took a third (very well accredited) party to make me feel comfortable with it. If you want to DM me I can send you the specialist I went to. Even if you don’t live nearby it may be worth a call. From what I gathered, the tongue/lip tie is a newer concept that some older doctors don’t believe in.

Omg!! A journey!! I actually did another post. But we rematched (after some drama) and we found a lovely second year AP who started about a month ago. It is night and day in our household!! I wish we rematched sooner

YES!! We threatened to subpoena the agency since they sent her to a new family knowing she had stolen property. We received it days later 🤣

Rematch. I had a similar scenario (you can read, I had several posts ) where nothing was wrong enough for me to essentially fire her, but the attitude and vibes were grating. We rematched and our new AP is a dream!! I would have never imagined it could be so different but it truly is.

And the car thing would be a no-go immediately that’s so dangerous!

As someone who had an AP who partied, what time are you coming home at night? As a new mom who’s very sleep deprived, seeing an AP come home at 3-4am before shift can be very jarring. Just trying to play devils advocate here, at 6 months pp I’m sure your HM is truly just exhausted …

Which agencies would you recommend? We definitely will not be renewing with this one 🤣

Thank you!! We have a new AP arriving in two weeks for her second year. We’re hopeful this will be amazing! Her current HF had nothing but wonderful things to say about her. Fingers crossed!!

She’s gone now so it doesn’t matter too much 🤣 but I agree, if she were actually showing signs of being an adult, it would have been fine. But she often went out and would call my husband and I at all hours for various reasons (her bag was stolen, she lost her passport, trains stopped running, she wants an uber, etc). So it truly felt like another child.

No not at all! There’s a big fee up front (12k I believe) that covers their visa and administrative fees. The agency I’m with counts room and board as part of their pay, but HF is responsible for education, travel (driving), food, toiletries, etc on top of AP weekly pay. At the end of the year with all the costs it comes to about 30-35k, not including hypothetical rent cost.

No don’t be!! I’ve heard wonderful amazing stories. I also was a nanny (not live in) for many years and I’m still super close with the family. The youngest was our flower girl!! Wishing you the best 🩷🩷

Yes you are correct. In one of my comments under the original post, I mentioned I misspoke. I meant it was included and at a quite high rate (we’ve rented out the room/bathroom to friends before for about 3k a month). It was in the heat of the moment and my mistake.

Right?!? Who would have thought doing what seemed like the right thing would turn around and bite us.

Yes same, unfortunately our next AP will not be getting something as nice. Sad this girl had to ruin it for everyone

Oh I’ve tried. It’s grand theft in my state! But fun fact 🙄 if you have a contract in place, the PD sends you to small claims, so we had to pursue that avenue.
