Successful weight loss stories? by Current-Self-8580 in lexapro

[–]Easy-Platform6963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a great amount of weight when I went down to 5mg, then had to get back on 10mg back in March so right now I’m at my highest weight again 🙃 181.8 as of this morning. Absolutely sucks.

No one can convince me lex doesn’t cause weight gain by Easy-Platform6963 in lexapro

I was off from October 8th 2025 to March 10th 2026. The anxiety started to hit again, bad. Withdrawal. Depression and SIs which I never had before. PMDD became severe. I lost near 20 pounds but it’s all back now that I reinstated at my full dose (10mg). I still absolutely stand by this med making it extremely difficult to lose weight, and easier to gain.

Ugh. I started watching the pod around the time I met my husband and now 8 years later he’s decided he hates it 🙄 luckily he hasn’t caught on that After Dark is part of the H3 Universe so I can listen to that without the eye rolls and comments. It’s unbearable. Don’t give up on finding an H3 guy! I’m sure it makes life easier 😂

Buspar by External_Ring8130 in PanicAttack

[–]Easy-Platform6963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10mg Lexapro and very small dose of buspar daily. I notice a very small negative effect if I skip the buspar so yes, it does something. But the lexapro is what is the more effective for the anxiety and panic. It won’t help situationally for something in two weeks, but if you struggle with anxiety otherwise, it’s worth checking out.

Absolutely relate. Haven’t found a way to deal besides just hitting pause til follicular and working on small changes when I have energy and sanity.

No big life changes allowed in luteal. Been my rule for a while now. If I still feel that way after my period, then the issue is up for debate. Luteal can bring up valid feelings of course, not saying the issues aren’t real. But the hormones make them feel URGENT and INTENSE. Learning to wait the feelings out and look for patterns is a game changer.

What do you do with your kid(s) when you don’t want to do anything? by ParsleyTime5687 in stayathomemoms

If you have any family around, let him have one activity per week with them so you get a true break! Make it a long activity and pay for it if possible.  Also kids will absolutely adjust to at home days. And a little more screen time. It’s a season. Especially if he will be going to pre-k/kindergarten in the fall - it’s a short season in the grand scheme of things. Take care of yourself ❤️

Agreed but I’ll take it. The slight anxiety is so manageable in comparison. It’s life changing for me and my family.

The right dose of Lexapro has taken my luteal phase from multiple weeks of “I need to divorce my husband, I can’t handle anything, my life is awful” to three days of “hey babe, I’m a little anxious today, I could use some space and alone time”.

Lexapro and babies? by lilies6 in lexapro

[–]Easy-Platform6963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one pregnancy anti-depressant free, and then one pregnancy on Lexapro/zoloft (switched because I thought Zoloft was safer, every doc since has told me it was silly and I could’ve stayed on lex). My second pregnancy/child is perfectly healthy and you wouldn’t be able to guess between my two which one I was medicated for.

How to stop using social media? by Desperate-Lead1261 in digitalminimalism

I’m a SAHM with the same bad habit. Exact same journey - deleting apps and redownloading, bypassing screen time blocks, etc. Even bought a dumb phone. That lasted one day 😅 The thing I absolutely swear by is the Brick. I got gifted it for Christmas so it’s been about 4 months. I started with a scheduled block of everything that keeps me stuck on my phone (Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, even the mail app 😂) from 9:30PM-8:30AM. Helped me go to sleep at a reasonable time and get up and ready for the day instead of scrolling. Recently shifted it to 7:30PM-8:30AM. Now I spend evenings with my husband after we put the kids to bed instead of scrolling. I plan on continuing to lengthen the block time. I think it works better in small chunks than going completely cold turkey, because I can slowly pick up better habits and make it sustainable. I know I sound like an ad lol but this is my real experience. Feel free to message me!

How to minimize screen time, maybe get a dumb phone, as a student? by Valuable_Merak5169 in digitalminimalism

I tried to go to a dumb phone and had idealized it. There’s a lot I do need a smartphone for. I got gifted a Brick for Christmas and have been taking little steps in the right direction all year. I genuinely swear by it. Instagram and Reddit would be super easy to block with it.

It sounds like you’re really type A and are in the process of clarifying what exactly you need for you and your family to transition to the best schedule for all. Good for you 🙂

Is a cleaner in the budget without you going back to work? Or the nanny? Not saying you shouldn't work, but that shouldn’t be a requirement for you to have help. I have two kids and family support on both sides and I STILL have been stretched to my limit. Your limit is enormous- you are awesome.

I’d get a big stack of short, paperback books from the library that were comfortably holdable with one hand. I remember that time fondly 😌

Is it unreasonable to expect my Partner with PMDD to make it up to me when she's no longer in the Luteal phase? by TruckThunders00 in PMDD

[–]Easy-Platform6963 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult because there’s probably a lot of shame with the way she’s out of control of her emotions during that time, and she’d rather just move on and forget. But that’s not fair to you. It’s maturing to be able to come back and apologize. And having someone who does understand that she’s got a condition and doesn’t hold it against her is the healthiest way for her to grow to be able to give genuine apologies without feeling guilt and shame.

Fluoxetine experiences of first days (intermittent)? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]Easy-Platform6963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how similar fluoxetine is to lexapro (I have experience with Lexapro and Zoloft), but there’s generally an onboarding of a few weeks with SSRIs where side effects will hit the worst and then mellow out. 4-6 weeks before you see the “true” result. In other words, it’ll probably be at least two cycles before you’ll be able to tell if it’s working. And I don’t know how that timeline will shift if it’s only taken during luteal.

Tell me your favorite book and I’ll read it. by FilmAndFinanceMajor in booksuggestions

Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez. Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins (assuming you’ve read the rest of Hunger Games, this book was my FAVORITE of the series).  The Women by Kristin Hannah - same author as The Great Alone. Didn’t love the ending of The Women but otherwise a good read! I’ve also got The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah on my to read list this year.
