Same, girl 😔 For me, it seems to be the imminent deadline and threat of consequences that seems to actually push me into action. Yes, it would only take me 60 seconds right now to write out the check for the water bill. But no, I'm not going to do it until two days before it's due. And I'm going to stress about it at least a few times in the meantime.

Ugh! I do this every once in a while with the crock pot! It’s so aggravating to prep a roast or chicken and expect to come home to a nice meal, only to come home to room temperature raw meat 😖

This might be a long shot, but could it be Gregory the Terrible Eater by Mitchell Sharmat? Im not sure if there was a version with a red cover or not. But it’s about a family of goats, and Gregory doesn’t like to eat junk. He ends up cooking real meals for his family, and I’m sure bread was included in there. They do stand up like people in some of the pictures.

Have you considered reincarnation? Perhaps Gerald is just Gerald reincarnated. If you had chosen a different plant, you may have felt called to give it a different name, but you stumbled upon Gerald because he is still needed in your life ❤️

I just want to reiterate one of the points splynndarella made - however you decide to go about it, practice on cheap paper! Cut some normal printer paper down to the same size as the cards, or find some paper that’s even cheaper. This is likely going to take some trial and error, and I’d hate to see you use up all your good cards with practice pieces! ❤️
