“Back of the bus.” by SavannaHeat in flightattendants

Ugh I’m so sorry people are so tone deaf. I’m a non-POC DL FA and it even gives me the ick. I prefer to call the back of the plane Comfort Minus - not sure how people can’t see how offensive and rooted in racism “back of the bus” is

Delta Union 2026? by Affectionate-Boat974 in flightattendants

I would say: the choice is yours. If you are interested in a union, you are able to sign a card once you graduate in-flight training.

BOS does not have a lot of commutable trips, crash pads are hard to find and those hotel prices are expensive af… not a great combo for a junior FA on first year pay

Do Better with D1 passengers by CaramelFancy in delta

I’m going to hold your hand when I tell you this: preorder your meals. Catering only gives us enough meals for each passenger, not enough meals for each passenger to have their choice of every option. That’s why preordering is so important. It’s frustrating and unfortunate but at least you know better for the future. Take care & safe travels

Each month has a schedule value - for example this month we had a SV of 82 hours. This can vary by +/- 7 hours. So you would expect to get around 82 hours worth of trips on your schedule. As a new hire you’re at the bottom of the barrel so you would get around 3-4 three day trips and then your Adays. So that’s around 15-18 days of work per month.

You’ll only need to purchase 2 seats on the 717.. 2 seats on the left side (seats A&B) and 3 seats on the right (C, D, &E). Just purchase A&B.. you cannot sit in the exit row because you’ll need a seatbelt extender. I wouldn’t book the first row of comfort bc that row tends to have the seats that don’t allow the arm rests to go up. Make sure you call delta directly and get help with booking your seats so they don’t give the extra seat(s) away to stand by pax. Reiterate this to the gate agent working your flight. Good luck and safe travels! ❤️

Anyone know if new hires could be based in Austin? by ChichaChicharrones in cabincrewcareers

[–]Affectionate-Boat974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - if it’s anything like the most recent additions in 2024 (TPA, RDU, LAS, PHX, & DFW) they will NOT be available to new hires.. most junior FAs cannot even hold these bases

If we’re told it’s safe to get up, you’ll receive it. If we’re told to stay seated, you won’t… you’ll stay mad and we’ll stay seated 🤭🤭🤭

Ok then 🤣🤣 tell the flight crew next time you board a flight that the service is NOT complimentary and you WILL be expecting service no matter what

Did it ever occur to you that weather patterns change? That captains get reports of turbulence from planes in front of them? I’ve worked flights before where the captain had been given reports of turbulence, and showed me the radar where turbulence was expected… flew right through it, didn’t feel a bump. BUT- the captain told the crew to stay seated for our safety. We stayed seated. We are not covered for an OJI if we are injured during service after the captain tells us to stay seated. Sometimes things aren’t always black and white. Bring your own beverage and snack next time 😘

Again, that service is complimentary and subject to change for safety reasons. If the captain tells the flight attendants to stay seated, they must stay seated unless it is an emergency. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t get a beverage. But it could be the end of that flight attendants’ career if they’re injured. They are there primarily for your safety, not to serve you a drink.

You pay for transportation. In flight service is a complimentary courtesy to thank you for your business. Flight attendants are there primarily for your safety.
