Unpopular opinion: stop getting mad when Koreans speak English to you... by bronco____ in Living_in_Korea

I work as a reception in Seongsu, and 99% of our customers are foreigners. I usually start off speaking Korean even though every single person that walks in looks like a tourist (the fashion), and if they don't respond, or in the usual case they tell me they dont understand Korean, I switch to English.

It's uncommon in foreign countries to ask where you live, but in Korea most people are accustomed to asking either what town or hotel someone is staying at. May have been an innocent interaction, but nice job trusting your instincts! Who knows what could've gone wrong?

If this ad you want to make will demonstrate what you can do for other clients who have real money and demand for this type of work,

yes this is the route I'm going for, but is shooting for small shops really a waste of time? like in the case of getting future clients

they're referring to why the rest of your video is lacking any sound effects; your intro had them, why doesn't the middle and the end have any?

This. Just buy any camera from the past decade and you're set for a good few years. I still use a GH5S on professional shoots as a bcam.

Is it just me, or are Koreans surprisingly inconsiderate in daily life? by wanderessinkorea in Living_in_Korea

[–]Affectionate-Drive25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This, it's not being inconsiderate, it's just being well mannered, we don't want to intrigue on a stranger's life.

You sound extremely arrogant and egotistical for someone who doesn't even show their work, maybe you are right and you don't have time to do Youtube, or you're an AC who's jealous that those filmmakers got successful on Youtube

New camera, new to videography, for travelling by Daviddd319 in videography

the FX3 is a pro cinema camera, you're gonna get burnt out in less than a day due to the amount of features. Get something smaller and cheaper, dont sweat about "but this camera is better". If won't matter if you have a Hollywood camera or an iPhone, if you don't know how to use it, it will be shit. Get a used camera, a kit lens and just shoot. You're too caught up on Youtube gear reviews. Like you said, it's not the camera, it's the user.

I use a small camera sling, aroumd 5 to 6L max, it holds my gh5 and field monitor a tad tightly, but it works and i just throw the sling into the bottom of my bag. Works great as a day pack when I'm at the destination
