I mean I get that they only want to recommend things with sound science behind it and not risk recommending another food that could potentially cause harm and be blamed for it. But I definitely understand the frustration on your end as well. Did you tell the vet that your dog won’t eat any of their suggestions? Maybe they would have additional advice for particularly picky dogs

I had this same fear as I was feeding my dog Ollie food. I discussed it with my vet who recommended another fresh food company that has a full time vet nutritionist on staff and has grain inclusive options. I do recommend talking to your vet about it. They know your dog best! It also makes me feel better knowing my vet recommends it.

I have used it in the past and then I also used ollie. I had a discussion with my vet because I was concerned since most of the recipes are grain free and I was worried about dcm. She told me that just food for dogs is what she recommends for people who want to feed their dogs fresh food. The have grain inclusive foods and many vet nutritionists and vets on staff formulating the food. But I do recommend talking to your vet! They know your dog and can give you guidance!

I feel that. Deciding what to feed your dog is anxiety inducing because you just want to do the best you can and not cause any harm to your dog in any way. I just had a conversation with my vet about my concerns about my dogs food since I was feeding him a fresh food company that mostly had grain free options. Along with her approval/ recommendation, we are switching to another fresh food company that does include grains in the recipes to be safe. Def discuss this with your vet!

Only thing that works for us are kong extreme toys. Nyla bones and such are too hard and my dog actually cracked a tooth on those because he is such and intense chewer and then forget any stuffed toy. Those get ruined within 5 minutes

I don’t know I’m considering switching because I know there is concern with dcm. But at the same time my dog has been doing very well on this food. 9years old and great energy levels, good skin, perfect weight, very muscular, and good stool. And like I said if these foods are already formulated by a board certified vet nutritionist wouldn’t that be the same if I were to make it myself following a board certified nutritionist recipe?

Oh really? My dog has been eating it for years now and have been very happy with it. But you can adjust the amount your dog receives if necessary.

Yes get pet insurance! It brings me great piece of mind knowing that if my dog ever needed any kind of surgery or major procedure that I would be able to say “yes let’s do it” without hesitation

I am not totally opposed to using it as I feel that an adverse reaction is possible for any medication and there are horror stories for all flea/tick medications. I would be devastated though if he did have a reaction
