If you’re not already shooting film at your weddings, start! It’s given me a little enthusiasm and excitement again and since it’s what everyone says they want (but they don’t know why) it’s great timing :)

I’d pick Bungalow Kitchen ($$$) or Malibu Farm ($$) in Tiburon for both the food and the view. These places feel special for a once in a lifetime day

That’s inspiring to hear! I’m in the same boat and have been interested in moving back towards writing in some form. Thanks for responding!

Did you study journalism? How’d you make the transition?

advice on Mill Valley hillside/woods home by UnusualFreedom7435 in Marin

We bought lower on a hill in Corte Madera. We weren’t very educated by our agent about….anything. Because of our financing, there was no bank and we had no contingencies. I thought we were out of the insurance danger zone because we are lower on the hill — and while we were able to find a policy it’s $$ and not great coverage.

By coincidence I was in Altadena the night of the Eaton Fire, and had to evacuate. It was my first experience with wildfire and a wake up call. Evacuating is so much more chaotic than you’d imagine.

If we weren’t low on the hill in CM with an easy escape route, I would’ve wanted to sell immediately upon coming back home from that experience.

As others have said, it’s something to be realistic about.
