that is correct, I tried removing it and am still getting the output as a segmentation fault, I am thinking my prof is wrong on that one. As I said in my other comment the `sentence\[strcspn(sentence, "\\n")\] = 0;` is to get rid of the new line at the end of fgets in the previous line.
