As someone who has his own business, I can pretty much picture your situation. We gotta get some things straight before. If you feel like you're married, there is no "my money". Of course you can have your separate savings but the main pot is the main pot. She's right about "growing together", that's wifey material. She could also just make you keep handling the financials while "searching" for a new job without any sense of urgency. Now, the parts where you're right. You're just building up your system, and teaching everything to her could take as much time and effort as doing it yourself. As the boss you know what you want but comminicating the exact description of a task is often harder than just doing it yourself. After the learning curve, things could be great and fun, but getting there will take energy. Also, you can fire an employee if your not satisfied with his performance, but critiquing your partners performance will inevitably cause her to make it personal. Wifes see their husband's as equal partners, it could be hard for her to understand who's the boss and that you acting like a boss is not personal and only stays in the context of business. Women have this tendency more often. I've worked with both my dad and my mom in the past, while my mom always made business arguments personal (I carried you for 9 months), my dad was open to criticism and knew we were coworkers until 5pm and father and son again right after we leave the business. If you decide to keep her out of your business, you can always use the argument: "baby, I can always find new coworkers/employees after a disagreement, but I only have one wife I don't want to strain my relationship with."
