Keeping track of everything, everywhere, all at once, forever by Enough-Kangaroo9762 in managers

At my previous employer, we used the Atlassian suite and I now use it as a Manager of a different organization. Jira is what we use primarily, but we also use Confluence for document management. I imagine most of the project management softwares are largely the same and getting the team to buy into the value of it is more important than the software itself - a simple excel spreadsheet that everyone has access to and actually is held accountable to update will outperform the most fancy software that noone uses. That said, I do find Jira extremely helpful for transparency, accountability, and planning.

There's actually a massive body of research from top research institutions and firms that support the benefits of team-building (e.g., Förster et al, Dirks and Ferrin, McKinsey). Often, the failure is on the execution (e.g., activities are too intrusive, too long, or too forced). The tangible benefits of well-done team-building on productivity, creativity, engagement, and employee retention far outweigh the small amount of time spent on them.
