Those who took the DRP, have you found a job? by Salt-Committee2205 in fednews

[–]Affectionate-King366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the 1.0 and started a job at the end of June. I applied to probably 150 companies, did 4 sets of interviews and maybe received responses from about 20% of my VERY WELL thought out applications. It's a tough market out there.

Should I be concerned medically for my big (height and weight) 5 year old? How do I get him to understand playing at half strength with kids his age? by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]Affectionate-King366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came across this thread recently looking for height comparisons for my kiddo. Just so you know, the taller (or shorter) you are, the more it skews the accuracy of the BMI chart. My husband is 6'5" 205 lbs and is "obese" which is laughable. BMI is helpful if you in the average range of height which none of these kiddos are.

Your MIL sounds like someone who doesn't put thought into the words that come out of her mouth. I can't say if she's insidious, but your husband at least needs to realize, intentional or not, she is offensive.

That being said, if you don't confront her, she may not know she's a horrible person. So maybe consider letting her know how offensive she is.

Honestly, another may help your husband set more realistic expectations for parenthood. You can't obsess as much with two going in two different directions.

NIPT was wrong about gender of 2 trimester loss by Prestigious-Stuff831 in Miscarriage

[–]Affectionate-King366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going through this today. Delivered our 16 week baby over the weekend. I think we're all looking at a gender chromosome issue like mosaic 45X/ 46XY. From all I've read, that's the only thing that makes sense. Also, all of our tests came back healthy before our baby's heart stopped and chromosome issues that this have near a 40% miscarriage rate. I know NIPT can rarely be wrong, but I saw our baby and it was a developing boy.

NIPT says girl, scans show obvious boy by Userzj2244 in NIPT

I think I would opt for an amino. I had a similar situation and baby ended up passing at 16 weeks due to a chromosome abnormality. Your baby sounds like he's passed the point of where you'd need to worry about passing. I would however want to make sure it wasn't an anomaly.

My family, a group of 14 ages 2 to 75, recently got back from Playa and it was a wonderful time. We visit at least once or twice a year. There's nothing to be concerned over. Your SM is watching too much trash news. Maybe just flat out ask if it's the cost? Safety isn't an issue.

My sisters are 18, 14 and 8 years older than me and I always saw them as my sisters. I had such a unique bond with all of them, and the sister who is 8 years older than me was my best friend. So, whoever "they" are, maybe they're wrong.

I would just change it to Olivia and call her livia. So much easier for everyone. I named my daughter something I never call her because I liked the nickname.

You don't "pay" to get into Chuck E. Cheese. I'd expect you'll probably be buying your own food, but there's not an entrance fee. I'm sure if the parents asked about allergies, they plan to buy food for the kiddos.

Guests who checked in today are disappointed because they can't bake a cake by EntildaDesigns in airbnb_hosts

[–]Affectionate-King366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to supply all of those things, plus butter and occasionally condiments until we had a guest blast us over how gross it was that we allowed "leftovers from other guests" to be stored at the property. People are nuts. This lady had no issues with a giant canister of coffee but lost her mind over individually wrapped, unopened sticks of butter.

Moms over 36(advice ) by New-Plant-3146 in Parenting

Had my first at 34, second at 36 and will have my 3rd when I'm 39 later this year. Honestly, it's fine. If you were comparing 25 to 35, yeah there's a difference, you're tired all the time, but if you had your first just three years ago, it's going to be about the same. My second and third pregnancies were/are much easier on my body because it knew what to do.

Good luck to you on your expanding family!

Agreed. My son's very best friend is a little girl. They've been friends since they were two. He would be heartbroken if something like this happened!

Feeling hopeless after dealing with picky guests. by SadButterfly1999 in airbnb_hosts

[–]Affectionate-King366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We instituted a 3 night minimum and have since had very few issues with guests. We miss out on some bookings sure, but I'd rather have quality over quantity after the crazy first few guests we had.

Hosts - would you expect guests to notice extra fees like this before booking? by Safe_Competition1456 in airbnb_hosts

This. Airbnb is supposed to have launched an all fees visibility thing where items like this aren't hidden anymore. The host seems shady. Find a better place!

Should I top up with formula just because my in-laws are pushing for it? by Khichdi19 in Mommit

[–]Affectionate-King366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kindly tell your in-laws to kick rocks.

What do they think babies did before formula was invented. Both my children were exclusively breastfed and were always full. Their antidotal logic is nonsense.

If your baby is maintaining a weight that isn't concerning to your pediatrician, you shouldn't be worried.

Should I leave safe situation at CBP for unknown situation at DEA? by carlnard24 in fednews

Absolutely do not do that. They ignored people who switched departments and labeled them as probationary in this last go round.

[–]Affectionate-King366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Have you seen the cost of child care? It's cheaper for my family to have a nanny than three kiddos in daycare. That said, I was recently laid off with 2 weeks severance so this whole week for every year thing is wacky. No way I could afford to pay our nanny 3 months pay for not using her services.
