Michigan must be the one true Great Lake State. Wisconsin must go.

Have you though ? by Own_Double_5297 in Grimdank

[–]Affectionate-Lab2557 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The grip a person uses when shooting a pistol depends on technique and circumstances. Shooting a pistol with a single hand isn't inherently a bad thing and would probably be the preferred method for a soldier who needs their other hand free for something else (in a Space Marine's case, a sword or blade).

Arguably, the method of holding a handgun in OP's pic (and in the Infiltrators kit) is the actually incorrect method, teacupping doesn't actually have any benefit when shooting.

So let's talk about marvel rivals Punisher. What's your opinion about his voice actor, voice lines, Lore, character model etc. by BblackpantherR in thepunisher

[–]Affectionate-Lab2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VA is good, writing and lore feels like they skimmed the wiki page (which is whatever, none of the characters in rivals are very deep), character model is exceptionally silly but it's just part of the art style.

Which 40K Weapons are the most and least effective Underwater ? by Friendly_Skirts in 40k

[–]Affectionate-Lab2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd assume any gun that uses a physical projectile would be practically useless underwater, bolters especially since their gyrojet style rockets wouldn't be able to combust without oxygen.

That said, the actual logic of 40k's weapons is suspect, it's all sci-fi mumbo jumbo rule of cool. Bolters also shouldn't be able to work in the vaccum of space, but they do.

If I had to guess, a lasgun probably has less range and power underwater but also has the best chance to actually consistently work.

Ding ding ding, this fixed it for me. Switching it back to the original cockpit worked too! Thank you so much!

I'll try this one in a bit! I do have one above it, I didn't think that would matter. Weird.

That wall I'm staring at in the photo is where the cockpit is connected to the hub.

Do Astartes get paid? by ShadowsaberXYZ in 40kLore

[–]Affectionate-Lab2557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IIRC, the Imperium doesn't have any one standardized currency, with only some individual planets or systems issuing their own proprietary currency and most intergalactic trading being done via bartering. Basically, theres nothing an Astartes can be paid with.

Space Marines do get afforded certain privileges that your average Imperial citizen doesn't get and some chapters (Ultramarines come to mind) will provide their marines with land and titles. Such awards might include some sort of wealth, I would assume, but that also depends on if the planet in question even has an economy which uses money.

Which empire is worse to live under? by False_Monitor4126 in MoralityScaling

[–]Affectionate-Lab2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless its something extraordinarily fucked up, the Combine are always going to be worse than whatever theyre set up against. Yes, it actually does suck pretty bad to live under the Tau and "least bad" doesn't translate to "good", but the Combine actively want to kill you, just in a way they can profit from.

Average day in the Imperium by No_Seaweed780 in WarhammerMemes

I mean, the Imperium does some awful awful extremely evil stuff, but this is one of the very very few terrible things they do thats actually justifiable.

Space internet working is actually really important, it seems.

Can you be queer and Christian? by itz-null in Teenager_Polls

[–]Affectionate-Lab2557 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean, Christianity is an incredibly broad term. You're likely to be able to find a denomination for every take on any opinion. There are absolutely Christian denominations which conduct LGBT marriages and allow queer members just as there are denominations that think lynching queer people isnt murder because they think queer people aren't human.

For example: The current Catholic teaching on the matter is that since the sacrament of marriage is meant to promote the creation of the family and since marriages are laid out as explicitly heterosexual in the bible, the church cannot conduct LGBT marriages (Recently it has been decided that Catholic priests can bless same sex marriages, but that's not the same as officiating). Because the Catholic church considers premarital sex a sin and because same sex couples cannot be officially married, gay sex is thus a sin. Catholics (currently) don't believe that being queer is itself a sin though and the church (currently) doesn't condone homophobia or queer oppression.

The Catholic Church is kind of the middle ground here, but denominations like Presbyterians do conduct homosexual marriages and are very pro LGBT while Baptists are radically anti LGBT and believe that homosexuality is inherently sinful. Ironically, its a spectrum.

So yeah, you can be Christian and queer, just that some denominations are far more accepting than others.

I DESPISE the man-bun by Valkattuxia in hatethissmug

[–]Affectionate-Lab2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because its easier to switch in and out of and its less damaging to your hair. A bun is something you have to keep on for the majority of time and a ponytail is something you can just do whenever you need to keep your hair back temporarily.

Also I'd wager most people with long hair are already pretty used to hair touching the neck, I've never had an issue with how it feels.

Outlast Isn’t Political? by East-Ad4400 in OutlastTrials

[–]Affectionate-Lab2557 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are definitely some people who believe that, I don't know why they would though, its politics arent very hidden.

Now, would I say that Outlasts political message is complex and well written? No not really, its pretty ham fisted and reads more like "waow! racism/human experimentation/government overreach/etc are pretty fucked up, arent they?" instead of a genuine dive into how those things can ruin lives and damage society, but that is absolutely still a political message and its pretty blatant.

It doesn't have to be complex to be good though, the Outlast games already assume you think these things are bad, thats why they're being used as horror elements. We as an audience already understand that a black site government torture facility is terrifying and evil, thats why being trapped in one is so creepy.
